Used this to trim some over-hanging oak branches over some fruit trees. They were about 15' feet high though this was easy to throw over. Got 3 branches down in only about 3-5 minutes each (cut time was probably half that). Great tool to have and I appreciate it having the double-sided cut. Look forward to getting a lot more use out of this!

Took a minute to get the rope in the right spot, but worked great on a 5ā limb. Itās a little sketchy and the chain will bind from time to time, but overall works well. Way cheaper than hiring a tree guy!

Easy to use, cut a high branch off with the help of a friend. Branch was about 8" in diameter and cracked in half below our cut with this device.

This chain saw has some good parts and bad parts. First off, there are no instructions so you have to guess what the right way to put it together is. To answer that question, put the small end of the S-hook through the rivet of the end of the chain, then use a pair of pliers to hold it while you bang both ends of the S-hook closed using a hammer. Once that is done, use the rope to tie bowline knots going through the big ends of the S-hook that you previously closed with a hammer.I first put a one pound weight in the little black bag and tied the rope to that trying to throw it over the limb, but the thread they used to close the bottom of the bag was too weak and the weight flew out. Both bags failed rather quickly. I ended up getting a big 1 inch nut and tying that to the rope and throwing that over the limb. The kit comes with plastic handles with rubber band straps that are so weak I never bothered with them at all. The kit also comes with fabric straps that are well made and worked good. To attach them to the rope, just fold the rope over on itself like an upside down U and put that through the small end of the fabric strap. Then put the big end of the strap through the rope fold and you have a simple and secure attachment. The kit comes with carabiner clips, but this method of attachment is better.Getting the rope over the limb proved to be far more difficult than the actual sawing of the limb. Unless you are a star baseball pitcher, you will need to have a plan for that. When you have the chain finally positioned over the limb, you need to have two people, one for each end of the rope so that both rope ends come down from the limb at a 45 degree angle like an upside down V. If any part of the rope touches the bottom of the limb, the chain will bind and possibly get stuck up there so one person pulling both ropes from the side is not going to work. If you do this with one person, then you have to stand under the limb and it will usually fall on top of you. Helmet advised. Also, its best not to stop until the limb is down because if you do, sap from the tree could also bind the saw. So don't start a big limb if you are not able to finish it without stopping.

This "chain saw" worked great and allowed me to take down some high limbs on a tree that needed to be taken off. We attached a longer rope to the supplied ropes because of the height of the limbs. Once we got the rope over the limb and positioned the saw by pulling it over the limb the sawing began. It was sharp and took no time at all to cut through a limb that was 7" in diameter and two others that were about 3" in diameter. Great product and saved me several hundreds of dollars to bring in a lift in my down hill back yard. Stores in a small bag for use again.

Purchased for a large tree on my property. It includes fabric bags which you can add rocks or weight to. This helps to throw the line above tall branches. Could not give it a full 5 stars because it came with no directions and the "S" hooks easily detach from the chain. It isn't clear where the two "S" hooks connect. Do they directly connect to the chain? If so, they easily pop off if the chain isn't under tension. Ended up using a large pair of pliers to squeeze the "S" hooks nearly closed. Very difficult as the hooks are fairly thick (good for long term use) and could only close it slightly. Which left the chain to still pop out. Kit comes with hand hooks for lower branches, which work great if you can reach where you're cutting. Overall, blades are incredibly sharp, the dual sided blade is very functional. A bit tricky to keep the ropes and "S" hooks on the chain.

I hate always hate reading reviews not knowing if they are fake or real, well look at the pictures. Thatās my hand, and my back yard. The good:Super super cheapChain is razor sharpRopes are pretty sturdyThe different handles helpI didnāt have to pay a tree cutter a couple hundred bucksI cut branches that were super high up, probably some over 40 feet standing on my deck. It was just as easy as when they were 20 feet. The process was a good shoulder work out.The bad:The rope holding the red handle grips broke right away. I tied them together but I wasnāt going crazy with them.I put a rock in the pouch and it hit a paver on its way down after whiffing and the bag broke open on the bottom.I didnāt have gloves. Definitely get gloves. If you are trying to get over a particularly high up branch, even with a heavy pouch tied to one end the weight isnāt enough to pull up the rope works a chain attached. Get a piece of some other rope, tie the pouch to it, and then throw that of the limb. Connect the rope attached to the chain to the rope you just threw with the pouch, then pull that up and your golden.
