Arrived exactly as pictured and described. The thin design was easy to install, and everything needed for installation was included. It is well built and fits our receptacle box perfectly. I really like that the green LED light is always on for added reassurance that everything is working properly. Reasonably priced in comparison to the GFCIs at our local big box store.

Every Amico GFCI outlet has many features that are designed for ease of installation and safety, and this one is no different.Firstly, the GFCI is as shallow as a standard non-GFCI outlet. This is very useful for replacing a receptacle that was installed in a shallow box. Some boxes simply may be too shallow to support a standard, deep GFCI (the NEC puts cubic inch requirements on installations based on the amount of wiring and other factors), so a shallow one like this may be required.Amico also uses the modern wire attachment mechanism that allows for wires to be easily be installed from the back (under the plate that can hold two wires) and from the side (under the screw). This process is easy since the screw stays in place instead of going back into the receptacle, so you're not having to fight with the screw while side wiring it.It also comes with baffles that cover the line and neutral screws so that they don't short to the box or shock you if you're removing the outlet from the wall for any reason. This eliminates the need for taping over the screws in boxes that are tight on the sides, so I like it.I cannot recommend this specific outlet for residential installations since Tamper Resistance (TR) is required, but I can easily recommend another Amico branded GFCI that has TR.

A thin, decent GFI option. Works with #12CU wire on the screw terminals (I try to stay way from stab-in where possible). Wish GFIs weren't so expensive these days, $12 each adds up quick. If you're buying just 1, or need a shallow option, this works. If you're buying multiple, find a multi-pack with a cheaper per-device option. This one seems to have more nuisance trips than others, even on the same circuit. Annoying.

New homes have these as standard now. So many building codes require these. However, I have lived in so many homes that were 80+ years old. Although the electrical systems were upgraded, many did not have these installed. Whenever I renovate area's, and add electrical outlets, I used these. These particular units are well made and work well! They are a great value, so give them a try. You have nothing to lose!

I installed this Amico 1 Pack GFCI Outlet 15 Amp with Thinner Design at my ranch cabin.I have a pigeon coop at the ranch, and the temperature is so low outside that the pigeons' water is freezing. I installed a heater for the pigeon water and installed this GFCI outlet. Everything worked perfectly. Then the snow came and got the extension cord wet. This GFCI tripped just as it should. Worked perfectly.I like the shallow design. It made dealing with the wires in the outlet box much more manageable. It is well-made and does the job of protecting a ground fault.

While this is called a "thinner design", it's still pretty deep compared to a normal outlet-- although, as you can see in my picture, it is shallower than the 1970's GFCI I replaced.Otherwise, this was a simple instillation-- and I liked that the terminals on the side are a clamp design (with a square "washer" below the head of the screw) so I could insert the wire straight instead of trying to loop it around the screw. This does come with a single outlet plate (which I didn't use since I have mine next to a switch) and is somehow still less expensive than what is available locally to me.Overall, easy to install, looks great, seems to function fine, and feels well made. Pair all of that with a good price ($13 at the time of this review) and there's no reason not to give this 5 stars.

I’m a big fan of Amico- they make great products at affordable prices. This GFCI outlet is no exception. I used it to split a receptacle across a wall and bring power to our water closet so that I can install a bidet with heat. It popped on as soon as I hit reset and is giving steady power.I thought the little tabs to protect you from electrocuting yourself if you ever touch the screws was a nice idea… but of course I completely forgot about it until I was cleaning up and saw them again 🤦🏻♀️It didn’t come with the screwless plate in the picture, I just add them to all my outlets. It’s a cheap upgrade that adds class- even if no one will ever see it!

But wait why would you want a 15 amp GFI when most of your outlet circuits are or at least should be 20 amp and thus require a 20 amp GFI. Well by a new electrical code you will have to have a separate circuit for your garbage grinder and it needs to only be a 15 amp so any dedicated circuit that's only 15 A like a garbage grinder only needs a 15 amp GFI . Please have cute little plastic covers that go over the side screws. I've never seen that before. And the shallow depth feature is also most useful
