This little bushing saved the day! I had went to put my car in park but instead it was in reverse, I had to put on the emergency brake as it would not stop. I did a lot of troubleshooting but eventually popped the hood and looked straight down to see a little piece of black broken plastic where my shift cable bushing should be. VW will only sell you the full shift cable assembly, they do not sell the bushing and the assembly costs about $1,300.00. After lots of Googling I ended up on Amazon and hoped this piece would fit, and it fit perfectly. I now have a fully functioning vehicle again. Thank you!

Had it together in less then 5 minutes. The old one broke dry rotted so called every place near but noone carried this thanks to Amazon was able to buy the exact part i needed

I had to take the part off of the shifter cable, then used the provided lubricant, pliers and a hammer to get the bushing in, but it's in there and seems to be correctly sized. Back on the road. I wonder how many people have had their car towed to a mechanic shop to have this worked on!
