I've always used the crimp style on my downriggers. Buddy recommended these so thought i'd give them a try, they fit tight and hold strong. Highly recommend for use when on the water and break off a ball. Can be used on scottys, canon, or any downrigger with wire.

Just got the kit to fix my frayed cable on my Cannon downrigger. Have not had a chance to do it yet. Cannon has videos online showing the "how to's". Looks pretty straightforward.

These are the best. Bought this multi pack just in case. As far as cable get the Scotty cable instead of the Cannon brand. A lot cheaper and the same quality.

Quality of the product itself appears fine. It was fairly easy to install and seems to work great. My issue is the directions are awful. They don't even label the components correctly in the diagrams. The package was sold as having six sets, it only had 4 of one part, 5 of the another, and 6 of the third part, so basically you can only make 4 terminations. I would hope this is not the case for all kits but who knows nowadays. Product boasts "Made in the USA" and we wonder why jobs get shipped overseas.

These terminators work well with stainless cable because they don't require sleeves that have to be crimped onto the line. No knots, either. The rubber cover that holds them together works as a bumper to cushion the swivel when it is reeled up to the downrigger's pulley.
