This is the 2nd e-trimmer I have, and the 2 are almost different animals entirely. First, what this is not - is what is one of its best features, it isn't a junky bump-feed wire trimmer, there isn't a good one of those; I always change out the heads - to one like this - the 4-wire/stick heads - they're WAY better, so much so that I've gotten companies I've worked for to make the switch, it's usually a requirement for me to stay on. This one has a bit more reach but is a bit heavier - it has more mass, it should. My other one knocks this one's pants off in that it isn't a one-trick-pony like this unit, it has a head(s) with a broader range of attachments - blades mainly. The 2 together round out about anything one would have any kind of weed-eater for. Until I get a battery and charger, I won't be able to speak to overall power and longevity, but I expect about a 30-45-minute run on a charge.

I love that this trimmer is compatible with Milwaukee M18 18V batteries. It's convenient for users who already own Milwaukee tools.

The adjustable height handles and lightweight design make this trimmer comfortable to use, even for extended periods of time.

This trimmer offers great value for the price, especially considering its brushless motor technology and battery level display.

I ordered this and it arrived during winter, so it hasn't been put through too much stress just yet. The snow was melting some thr day it arrived so, I did take it out and do a brief check on it.Assembly is minimal, most of the device was already put together. The deflector, handle and roller were the only parts that needed to be attached. There was a spare nut in the bag as well, I assume this is for installation of a different string head or other attachment as it does not appear to be mentioned in the instructions and there are no obvious places to install it.I will stop her to mention that when I tooke this out of the box I discovered that there is a small tab broken off that holds the "flower guard. This is likely because there was no padding inside the cardboard box, that was also in an Amazon box. This broken piece does not seem to keep the metal arm from sliding in and out or remaining secure enough during use, so I am not going to take anything down on my rating because of it, but wanted to note the lack of padding and point out this could cause different issues for others.I grabbed the nearest Makita battery I had on another tool and ventured outside. First impressions are that it is a little more noisy than I expected. It isn't necessarily loud, just not as quiet as a previous battery powered trimmer that I have used. In the regular trimming position it worked well with no issues. I only tried it on some light grass, and it performed as I would expect. When I flipped it to doe a small section of edging, the changeover was quick and the actual edge line was easy to follow. It did almost immediately throw one of the 2 pre-installed string sections out several feet away. I tried to get it put back in, but It seemed to need the other string out so I decided I would just come back and read the directions. That said, it worked fine with only a single piece. My 2 points that led me to mark down a single star for now are, first, the guard does not seem to come around far enough to stop enough from being flung back to your feet and ankles. The roller for the edger function does slightly limit how much farther it can extend, but given the choice between the two, I'd prefer a larger shield. This can be minimized by only leading with the opposite side, but be ause the guard does extend on that side, I expecy that I will be covered in grass clippings and possibly have some mulch or gravel kicked back to me. My second issue is that my instinctive position to edge from put my face in the line of debris being kicked up. I was able to adjust and be mostly shielded by the guard, but I had to stop and realize my error.Overall this should be useful for my needs and I'm happy that I don't need any extra chargers laying around and can use my own batteries.

I got this intending not to use it for a string trimmer. Got a set of chainsaw brush blades and needed a dedicated tool to leave them on . This popped up and took Dewalt battery's so was a no brainer .It came mostly assembled, other the. It's split into 2 pieces and uses a long spring to send the motion from the head to the base. The guard isn't attached and it comes with extra strings for that head.I removed it all the string head and the base so I could mount the brush cutter . With that it workeds as I intended and will work doesn't spin that fast but went from a few oz for the included head to a steel disk that is about 2 pounds .

As a Dewalt user, I appreciate that this trimmer is compatible with Dewalt 20V batteries. It saves me money on buying additional batteries.
