After almost 20 years of teaching and kids constantly sharpening colored pencils which break after just a few swipes, I finally bought 12 packs of these, having not used Twistables before. My students were thrilled. I hope they last because with a plastic casing, I can see one drop and careless foot, and it will be smashed, one at a time. For now, the students seem happy to have these for their use in our projects.I used them myself for a sample.assignment and found thr quality very nice; the same as any colored pencil, but with more consistency because the point never gets too pointy or too flat.

I have bought these each time we’ve traveled to a foreign country so that we can pass them out to the children we meet. They have been a huge hit! Crayola, if you’re reading this, I would love to send some to an orphanage in Uganda that we recently visited. If you’d like to make a donation they would be so very grateful. (As for the product, they’re the best! No more broken crayons and paper wrappers. And Crayola crayons are tops. Excellent quality, terrific colors.)

I purchased a class set for the classroom this last year. It was probably one of the best school supply purchases every. No sharpening, very few pieces of broken lead, and easily twists down to conceal the lead. Warning: The lead can break inside the pencil if dropped. Sometimes it breaks into pieces which can fall out. Sometimes it breaks at the top where it is glued into the twisting mechanism. When this happens, the entire stick of lead falls out. I just put it back in and tell the kids to always keep it twisted all the way down and in its box to prevent it falling out. Still a million times better than wooden colored pencils.

...the seller didn't send them to me for free or give me a discount for my review. I say that because I see this being done for so many inferior products on Amazon where the sellers are now "paying" people to review their product. I am actually genuinely happy with this product. I bought I don't know how many boxes of them (20 or more).I remember as a kid trying to carefully tear the paper on my crayons so I could sharpen them and still see the name of the color until eventually the paper is gone. I recall trying to sharpen them in the pencil sharpener and getting crayon everywhere. And, of course, we all remember how easily crayons break. Then you're left trying to color with pieces. With these, you can color to your hearts content without ever breaking. And if you need to sharpen, it's much easier and less of an ordeal than peeling paper and then taking big chunks of wax out of the crayon. These are like skinny crayons, but they last longer, don't break, are easier to sharpen, and you'll always know what color they are because there's no paper peeling.
