Easy to put together. Had trouble with the socket so just soldered the IC directly to the board. I've soldered for years so I didn't worry about overheating the ic. For beginners I would use the socket. It does appear to be in Celsius only.

Poor directions, couple parts would not fit in place. Did not function when complete.

Have built many of these, some with family or friends to teach them. No issues. I can build in about 30 minutes, beginner probably 1-2 hours depending on knowledge.

This was a fun soldering project, right up until I discovered that the temperature sensor, the prime reason for the kit, was missing.Word to the wise: do a thorough inventory of the parts - not a quick visual 'all looks well' check!

Went together fairly easily and works well. Definitely a fun kit for a beginner. As with most of these beginner kits, the best idea is to scan the QR code on the included instructions to access the full build document on their website. Use the full set of instructions on the website's PDF document rather than the bare-bones instructions included with the kit.My only two minor beefs are that 1) you are locked into Celsius. I could not find a way to toggle between Celsius and Fahrenheit. and 2) the unit does not measure below freezing (0 C or 32 F) although that limit is clearly stated in the product description.

This kit works fine. It has two alarms: one for over temp. and one for under temp. These are easy to set. Bright display. As usual, the English instructions are some what humorous, but easy to figure out what they mean. The kit came with a few extra parts, but better that than too few. Display is in degrees Celsius. Works with a 5 volt USB connection and comes with a cable. I like it. Only disappointment is that the links to additional information don't work. I'd like to know how to use the four terminals labeled +, -, R, T.
