Not the right pitch. I tried both and the pitch wasn't right, dog paid no mind to it at all. Other dog whistles I had in the past had a very high, barely audible to the human ear tone. These were lower tone and very audible to humans. I tried blowing with different wind forces and it made no difference. My dog was totally indifferent to the sound.

Not entirely sure the best way to adjust it, the directions could be clearer. However, it gets my dog's attention! The ultrasonic sound seems to work, and it’s a handy tool for training. The lanyard makes it easy to carry, and the two-pack is a great value.

My yorkipoo is an alert barker which cn be annoying. I've tried clicker training but he's on a diet now. I decided to try these whistles especially since it's not adding to the cacophony of noise when he's barking. He does respond to them and its going ok to distract him from barking. I looked into whistle training very quickly and there are tutorials out there if you would like to use these for multiple commands.They are constructed of metal with a key chain loop on the end. The loop is not hard to manipulate but isn't so thin I would worry it would come open. The lanyards are just cheap generic ones but they are so light i don't even notice them around my neck. I think that's a bonus since it isn't uncomfortable or heavy and obstrusive. Good deal for two at $8.

I like this dog whistle for training purposes. I cam adjust the frequency which is important. The whistle is steel with a cover and a lanyard. I like the quality of the whistle it's durable and easy to use. If you need a good quality dog whistle for training consider this one.
