Fortunately, I have not had a need for this product yet; but, it is bound to happen and now I am ready. Having an extra deck cleat, quick engage, quick release is very handy also. I run a medium weight downrigger on my fishing kayak and this will lessen the odds of a fishing day being spent trying to free my outrigger from debris or a rock pile

I hate having to lean way over the gunnel of my boat to retrieve and rig the downrigger weight. This nifty little kit allows you to pull the weight in toward the boat within easier reach. I mounted the cord cleat on the right side of the 1060 downrigger base using two screws. Installation tip: I was also able to fish the clip and rubber bumper through the yellow guide ring without having to cut the cable. The secret is to soften the bumper in boiling water and then force it through the guide ring with some silicone grease. This kit is going to make things a bit easier and safer on the boat.

I have downriggers that stick out 60 inches, impossible to reach out and attach the fishing line. Using these you just pull the cord and it pulls the downrigger cable right to the side of the boat. Attach the line and release. So much easier. This is a great item and a good value.
