About this item

  • ❶【WIDER APPLICATION】2025 New Upgrade: Extra large automatic chicken door (11 x 9.5 inch) – More robust motor & enlarged door frame for chickens, ducks, and geese. Perfect for larger coops and convenient entry and exit.
  • ❷【MAXIMUM WEATHER RESISTANCE】Crafted from robust, corrosion-resistant aluminum alloy, this chicken door is built to withstand extreme weather. Powered by an advanced 2025 motor, it operates reliably between -4°F and 140°F, ensuring optimal performance even under the harshest conditions.
  • ❸【EASY CONFIGURATION】With the convenient timer function and user-friendly, high-contrast display, you can easily set the opening and closing times of the automatic chicken door. This simplifies daily management and supports the natural rhythm of your animals – suitable even for varying light conditions and less tech-savvy users.
  • ❹【SAFETY MECHANISM】An integrated sensor stops the closing process if an obstacle is detected. The door automatically lifts by 3 cm and pauses for 10 seconds. If the obstacle remains, the process is repeated three times. If the obstacle persists, the door stays midway and reattempts closing every two hours to conserve energy.
  • ❺【BATTERY OPERATED】Enjoy consistent and reliable performance with our battery-operated chicken door. The automatic chicken door runs for up to six months on three AA batteries (not included; alkaline batteries recommended). The door is equipped with a battery level indicator and features a user-friendly battery compartment with a twist-lock design, enabling a quick battery change in just one minute.

Obviously the chickens aren't going out in the snow. But the gate/door works! Don't know how long the batteries will last, but there's only 3 that are needed. Simple, basic programming. So far no complaints. Works as good as my solar charging one does that's on my main coop. If a basic automatic door is what you need, this would be one to check out. As always, I'll revise my review if needed as the product is used.

This automatic door is very good on all counts save one. The door is made of a good lightweight metal that should hold its form for extended life expectancy. The programming is intuitive and simple, allowing for a predetermined open/close or programmed times, to the minute. My testing yielded great results in timing; the door lifted and closed the second the clock turned to the programmed time. The manual opening and closing also worked with simple presses.Con: The one negative is that the anti-pinch mechanism is a little too tight. In testing, I used my fingers and had to push pretty hard to trigger the mechanism. I am concerned that a young chick could get caught and injured or killed before the mechanism reversed.

It looks great but only has manual or timer mode, no light sensor. That's not super helpful to me since I'd have to be out there every few months changing the timer so the door wouldn't shut before the chickens go to bed (if I set it to close at 7pm, that's too early for summer but too late for winter when dusk predators would love an open chicken coop at 6pm).

Well made. Quality. Most importantly is this coop door programming is easy, straight forward, not one bit confusing to set times of opening and closing. Also, replacement of batteries is so easy ! Plus, the price is awesome!! 👍

Normally in the past i have always built my own chicken-roost doors but i thought i would give one of these a try since they have come down in price a whole lot. This one is actually pretty nice. Once you fasten it into place it functions beautifully. My chickens were a little weary of it at first but they got over it. The quality of the metal is strong enough to keep any critters out at night as long as you have it fastened correctly and securely. My only concern would have to be the batteries it uses to operate. The doors that i made myself run off electricity from the house so i never have to worry really about them malfunctioning unless there is a power outage, I have not had this unit long enough to comment on how long the batteries last but i will try to give an update at a later date. There is a digital screen that you can easily monitor the batteries life on. Just be sure to do so as i am afraid the device may die without warning and would leave all your chickens vulnerable to all the wildlife that comes at night.

This is my first automatic door so I don't have basis for comparison, but this seems like a really nice coop door. The operation is smooth as long as it's installed properly, it's pretty quiet, and it's easy to program. Some key features that stand out to me:- It has an anti-pinch feature to keep chickens from getting closed in the door, much like an automatic garage door opener. This does rely on 3 seconds of increased pressure before it lifts back up, though. I tried it on myself and it's not going to be comfortable for a chicken, though I'd consider that an incentive for her to hustle out of the way.- if you need to let in a straggler, there's a manual open option that does not interfere with the automated open/close timers.- The profile if the door itself is very small, though the mechanism box sticks out further, and it installs flush against the surface. This is convenient for those of us who may have used thicker than normal materials.- The battery box is clever and easy to open, even with gloves on. No little fiddly doors. It's the big dial-like thing on the right.- The button and programming instructions are conveniently printed right on the mechanism (because who really saves instructions, right?)A couple of things to note:- This door requires 3 AA batteries.- The operating temperature is -14 degrees to 140 degrees F. Keep it in the shade if you live in a hot and sunny place and have an alternative exit if you live in an area that drops below zero.- The 3 seconds of pressure on the anti-pinch feature should be fine for grown chickens in most situations, but I don't think I'd use this door for juveniles, chicks, or more delicate types of poultry.
