Worked great on a hanging porch light lantern in 3 seasons of weather in NJ - snow sleet and rain, no failures

Installed in my light fixture above the outside of my garage door. The unit turns off at daylight and turns on at dusk just fine. Unfortunately, when the light comes on, the sensor turns the light off because it things it is daylight. Then the light turns back on because it has been dark for a minute. Then back off... and so on. All night long the light turns on for 30sec then off for 30 sec and on and off all night.

Just screw the bulb into the sensor socket and then into your light. Not too hard to work out! They work very will and are priced well too.

They come on at dusk...and go off at dawn...like they are supposed! I use one on my front porch and one at my side door.

Works for what I need it for. Misleading on “twisting” so sensor faces sunlight, as it just means the unit twists into the socket

Works as expected. I used for an exterior pole light with an LED bulb.

As others have indicated in their reviews, the device can not be rotated so that the sensor ("eye") is toward the sunshine, therefore the bulb never turns off. Useless! Is it possible the original light sockets on the porch of my 1940s home are different than modern sockets? These are were a waste of money. Also, read the details carefully, as this device adds 1.5 inches to the length of your bulb (so any bulb cover may no longer fit, leaving you with a bare bulb to look at.) I do NOT recommend this item.***Edited: I am updating my stars from ONE to THREE because of the unexpectedly great customer service from the company, who provided a full refund following my post (regarding the sensor not rotating and therefore not turning on/off as advertised). Kudos for the great customer service!

I am VERY disappointed in these. They advertise that the sensor rotates (is adjustable)... they do NOT. SO, wherever they end up in the socket is where the sensor is. 360 rotation is totally untrue. If it ends up facing the back in the socket (instead of the direct sunlight) then on cloudy days, the light will not shut off. This was the problem I had with other (non-adjustable) adapters, so I was excited to see that these were supposedly adjustable. THEY ARE NOT!
