They are great for keeping the nesting boxes cleaned easier. BUT we’ve had 3 broken eggs since I put them in yesterday. 😞I might try double-lining them because I do like how easy they are to clean.

I ordered these to line the bottom of my hens nest with to avoid anything soaking through the pine shavings and ruining the wood underneath. Which they worked perfectly for. They can be used alone for nests or underneath nesting material to make messes easy to clean. However I ended up finding more uses for them such as putting the chick feeder on top of one to catch the mess and keep the feeder from slipping around. They are VERY easy to clean and reuse for multiple things chicken/pet related.

I bought straw nesting pads and my chickens loved destroying them. It was a constant battle to keep them in the nesting box. So I bought these. Wasn't sure how the chickens would like them but they took to them right away. I trimmed them slightly to fit better. They wash easily and are well worth the money. They are durable and work very well.

My hens tended to kick out all the straw in their nesting boxes and I would end up with some slightly dented (not cracked through) eggs. The "girls" don't seem to mind the mats at all and it's so nice to take them out and wash them if needed.

My chickens have no problem laying on these and haven't had any broken eggs. Easy to clean and have held up well, have had them for 3 months and no sign of wear. If your chickens don't mind them then they're definitely better than anything else! I just wish they offered different sizes...my nesting boxes are rectangle not square.

Ordered July 8th, delivered on July 11th. I chose the Lil'Clucker nesting pads rather than the disposable ones so I could (hopefully) buy once and be done. These have worked out great in the nesting box, paired with the My Favorite Chicken rubber nest eggs (which I also will review), the hens have consistently been laying in their nesting box, the eggs are clean, and the pad is a snap to clean. Toss it in the sink with warm soapy water, wash, rinse, dry, and put it back in the nesting box. It has worked well for me, with the girls sometimes climbing in the box two at a time to lay their eggs. (See picture) I have seen some negative reviews stating that the chickens won't use, or don't like these. I did spread a thin layer of pine shavings over the pad, along with the rubber eggs, for a few days, but once the hens got used to laying in their box, they use it every single day, and lay on the bare pad now with no complaints. I've never had a broken or dirty egg, and I would buy again, and I recommend these to anyone trying to train their hens to the nesting box. Our 4 Buff Orpingtons use them consistently every day.

I use a scoop of pine flakes on top just to give the chickens a little "nest". I just pull out the pad with the flakes right on top and shake the whole thing right over the trash. I have 2 sets so if I need to rinse one, I can put a dry one back in right away. I used to use the ones with the little bristles but I hated how the flakes and dirt got wedged down into the bristles. These are MUCH better and easier to clean. The hens are happy so I'm happy :)
