I have no reason to give this any less than 5 stars. It worked great for me. I needed to clone a 256GB SATA drive to a 512GB SATA. I then needed to extend to the unallocated partition on the 500GB drive to utilize the whole drive.

This unit worked really well for me. I needed to replace the 1 TB NVME drive in my laptop with a new 2 TB one, and I REALLY didn't want to re-install Windows and deal with setting up a bunch of programs and dealing with quirks. I was able to duplicate the original drive onto the 2 TB model with the push of a button, and everything worked when I plugged the big one back into my laptop.I have read a lot of reviews about devices like this overheating. This is an open design, and while it got warm (to be expected), I didn't have any concerns about it getting hot enough to damage my NVME drives. There is a reason why computers have heat sinks on NVME drives, and fans on or near them. They put off heat while they are in use. This unit didn't seem to cause any excess heat above what is normal for two NVME drives operating next to each other. If you want. you can use the device as an external USB drive. The NVME drive would probably have a higher transfer rate than most external drives, but you would still be limited by the speed of your USB port. But it does work if that's what you want.

I use this for IT support. Typical application is cloning a drive to a larger drive, or cloning a failing drive to a new drive. Works EXTREMELY fast (512GB just took 8 minutes on my latest clone today) and has been flawless for me. Once the cloned drive is installed back into the original computer, I use MiniTool Partition Wizard to quickly move any partitions above the main OS boot partition and resize the OS partition to fill the available space. 100% Recommended, no downside at all in my experience.

Because the slots for memory are end to end instead of side by side they dissipate heat better and the heat sinks on my memory sticks don't interfere with each other.

This cloning station does not require a computer. just pop the SSD in the master side and another on in the clone side. Turn the unit on. It does the rest no matter what operating system your using. Cloned a pretty full 500GB drive in 20 minutes. Great tool to help you upgrade your hard drives without reloading all the software.

Yes it will copy a smaller SSD onto a larger SSD -- at same (smaller) partition size. Then it is a hassle, trying to get the smaller (copied) partition size increased to the full size of the larger SSD. Finally had to attach it to PC and use DiskGenius to do the clone (since DiskGenius allows partition sized to be set as large as needed on the new SSD). Also the new cloned version will not Boot as its cloned Windows C: partition is not recognized as containing a "boot" record. After many false leads on how to repair the MBR, I noted in DiskGenius that the MBR signature on the clone was different than on the original. Using DiskGenius I was able to copy the MBR Signature from the old SSD onto the cloned SSD and then it would boot! So all in all, I'd recommend just getting a usb SSD case for the new SSD and use the free version of DiskGenius to do the cloning, then it can be pulled out of the usb case and installed in the laptop :-)

This product works like a charm. All that is required is that you carefully read the instructions. Once you put both the Original in the left and the clone to be on the right and power it up LED"S on the outer sides of the cards flash. When you push the button in the middle. Then (READ THE INSTRUCTIONS) there are 25% 50% 75% and 100% LEDs that light up as it progresses on the right front of the unit.. It will clone an OS M2.2 on to another M2.2 that has been used and it works. If you clone a 1 TB to a 2 TB or any smaller to a larger Drive you will get the clone of the smaller drive. All you have to do then is use disk management (under control panel/windows tools/ computer management) to extend the drive to the full size. I didn't loose a bit of data and it will be valuable for a long time. Great tool and a MUST have.
