I ordered this playset for my Matchbox-loving 5-year-old son. One glance at the pieces and decal sheet told me that it would be necessary for an adult to put this set together. It took me about an hour, which I mostly spent on the stickers. Thankfully the decal sheet includes numbers, as do the diagrams (no words) in an instruction booklet. The steps are logical, which helped a lot. The set has some nice details, such as a button that opens a door and the ability to both "fly" and "land" the airplane. However, it is limited in what children can do beyond their own imaginations. Also, while the single car and plane that come with this set are great to start things off, I think that a child really needs more to have serious fun with this set. My son has a ton of Matchbox cars but this is his only miniature plane. We added some Fisher Price children (though they are larger than the car and plane) to be customers. Finally, I agree with other reviewers that this set has a lot more utility when combined with other Matchbox playsets. I'm slightly disappointed that the cutouts on the sides, obviously for that purpose, don't match up (no pun intended) with the Matchbox Sto & Go Course we already had. But my son can still put the two sets side by side and play to his heart's content.

Got this Matchbox Toy Car Playset - Takeoff Adventure Airport Set for my grandson. Most importantly he loves it! I was impressed with the ease of assembly, the value, and how much fun he has playing with it. The set is not very big size wise, but you can add it to the other Matchbox Adventure Sets and make it HUGE. There are over 20 more sets to make an entire city from Matchbox. These sets make play time fun and build their imagination. Would recommend.

My nephew recently has been super into planes, and I thought this would be a really cool and fun set for him to play with. This set merges his love for cars and also his love planes in one place so that he can have endless amounts of fun. It comes with quite a few pieces. It’s been something that he’s been nonstop playing with since he got it so we definitely say it is a win for kiddos.

This is so much fun for the little ones to play! I like how they also provided a small airplane and car. I'm going to definitely get more cars and airplanes to make the airport look more filled up. Great way for kids to be engaged. Highly recommend!

We got this for our 2 year old, our older kids like it a lot too. It was easy to assemble, and the motion of spinning the plane is a great play feature. It is nice that it is made to be expandable with other toys from the series being able to connect to build out a little city. I think its a great toy and our kids have been having a blast with it.

My toddler really enjoyed this playset, here's the breakdown.This was quite easy to assemble, with the exception of my inability to properly place small stickers/decals on plastic parts. The build quality is what you expect from Matchbox: top notch, with the plastic edges and metal car and plane having no sharp or rough edges. The size is a bit larger than I expected, but it can easily live on a coffee table or small play mat.As far as fun, the little garage is a lot of fun as it's multi-purpose (cars and planes), as are the takeoff ramps, allowing this to be an exciting and engaging toy for ages 2 and up, regardless of whether or not the player fully understands the ins and outs of airport security. All that said, this toy will age well.I'd highly recommend this, it's a very cool toy with a larger footprint but a large amount of fun-ctionality.
