This is a great pocket plane and came sharp and ready to use for my purpose. I’m using it to plane floor trim, and it mates up the corners beautifully and small enough I can easily avoid nail heads. The throat is wide enough to allow a wide range of adjustment so I can take fine or thick shavings and can adjust easily

This is the meaning of the phrase "you get what you pay for". At this price, I didn't expect anything phenomenal, but it is barely functional. It's very light, the blade is thin and arrived with a rough burr, barely sharp. With some honing it might be okay, I didn't have a chance to spend time refining the blade.The body of the planer is quite thin compared to others I've seen, even in similar sizes.I think i would only recommend this for very light materials and very infrequent use.

One arrived completely dull and the blade had the wrong angle. The other was already put together and had a slight edge on it, but after three passes it was completely dull. Both blades are made of cheap metal that does not like to hold an edge. I can not recommend this product for purchase. I bought these with a promo for buy-one-get-one-free for $8.18 and yet they are not worth $1.00 each.I do not recommend purchasing this item. Even if they were completely FREE they are not worth it. You will spend too much time sharpening these without making much progress on what you are working on.It's not even worth the gas and time it takes to return the item. The only positive thing I can say is I now have two cheap frames and Amazon sells replacement blades, so I will try that route and then provide a review of replacement blades.

I got this to level joint compound without throwing dust everywhere. It was PERFECT for that!I recommend it.
