I needed a nut to replace the one on the 12 string neck of a double neck. The original was too short for the fretboard width. As a result the strings were clustered too close together, making it difficult to play accurately. This nut was the right width, and the precut slots were just the right spacing. Saving me who knows how much a luthier would've charged to custom cut a nut. Or buy the tools to "try" doing it myself. Maybe getting it right, and not wasting a perfectly good nut blank.

This nut was purchased to replace the nut on an inexpensive 12 string acoustic. As always with these operations, I measured (with calipers) the height, width, thickness, and string spacing, which were accurate when the product arrived (which is what I expect from Graph Tech).No pings or pinches while installing the strings, and tuning stability is exceptional (which is why I like these nuts).Not only would I buy again, but I actually keep a few spares for my guitar collection on hand.

Graph Tech is an innovative guitar parts company and their line of TUSQ nuts is at the top of the list. Tuning stability for the 12 string custom I just completed is nothing short of perfect. A slight turn of the 18-1 tuner and u can watch (on an electronic tuner) the pitch move. Absolutely no binding at the nut, none. Which is not the case for a bone nut. Especially useful for tremolos and guitars w high headstock angles. Honestly, the only down side is when compared to bone the tone is slightly darker. A simple drop test on a hard surface will revile a slightly lower ring when compared to bone. But if tuning stability is a problem than TUSQ is the answer.
