Installation Tips - It depends on what type of backdrop you'll use:
(1) For Paper Backdrop Roll with Center Rod - Directly slot the paper backdrop into the expansion rod
(2)Fits the pipe with diameter of 1 3/4 - 3 1/8" (4.5 - 8 cm)
(3)For Muslin or Canvas Backdrop Without Center Rod - You'll need to get a center rod (e.g. PVC pipe / Aluminum tube) and attach it to the expansion rod and roll the backdrop onto the pipe. (You can use water PVC pipe available in hardware shops, and cut it to any length to ensure the tube is longer than the width of the backdrop.)

Ive been a photographer utilizing a backdrop stand for 7 years. I hated how bulky they were and easy to tip. Since I got my own studio space I knew that I wanted to get myself a wall mount. I did a lot of research and saw a lot of negativity regarding the electronic one so I opted for this instead. I was worried anything more than 3 was going to be too bulky and take up too much of my wall. installation was okay. The instructions could be more helpful and the mounting screws were something my husband and I had never seen before so that took a little brain power to figure out but all in all not that difficult to execute once you figure out what you need to do. So far (Knock on wood), they have been holding strong and I can tell you with certainty none of my screws are in studs. I have lowered and raised backdrops several times without issue.

Lightweight metal tubing with a large enough diameter (1.75" - 3.125") have proven impossible to find locally. You can buy tubes on Amazon, but they are multiple short pieces that are assembled, with the issues you would expect with that. The roller system itself seems well made and I'm looking forward to using it once I find tubes that will work.

Installation instructions could be more detailed and clear. For example, what size are the screws for drilling etc.Does not come with the bars so you have to get pvc pipes or buy metal ones. Materials isn’t all that great.

I had a time installing this lolIt is easy and straight forward, but this was my first time ever mounting anything to the wall. After watching a few YouTube videos I figured it out and it was simple. Make sure you measure out the distance of your backdrop rolls beforehand so that you can install the mount properly. It holds up to 3 rolls and is sturdy.

I bought this for my sidewall of my camera room because I have a motorized roller system on the other wall. This is for very light backgrounds, such as the vinyl ones that you can buy on Amazon.
