These are ok; they work. The directions on Amazon say hold in urine stream for a few seconds or dip the test into urine for 3-5 seconds, the directions in the package says 10 seconds. I probably did 5 seconds, and it was enough time to get an accurate reading. I thought midstream tests would be convenient, but after trying these, I prefer the strips. I was afraid I might make a mess and pee on myself, or miss the stick altogether, or not pee on the stick long enough to get an accurate reading. You can get around this with just a little urine and a small cup, then you know you are getting enough urine and tested for enough time.Tips on using:1) Timing. If you have a regular cycle just follow the included cycle chart wheel….. test a couple days before and after predicted ovulation and this package should last several months. If you have an irregular cycle you will have to start testing earlier and will likely use more tests each month. If you have a long cycle, keep in mind that you ovulate about 14 days before your next period, not 14 day after your period starts. The cycle chart wheel gives a good idea of when to start testing.Since you normally only test a few days each month, these 30 tests should last you several months.2) This does not work like a pregnancy test - it’s not a line or no line for results. You always are producing LH hormone; the ovulation tests help you detect the surge. The line gets darker and darker each day and then starts fading. Sometimes it’s not clear to me, so I keep the tests lined up (sharpie the date on the stick) so I can see the line getting darker and then fading away, that way you can confirm the true surge.3) The included directions and videos are detailed and helpful. They also recommend a fertility tracker app to track symptoms and help determine when you are most fertile.4) For consistency and to avoid diluting the LH hormone you are trying to detect, it’s helpful to take the test at the same time every day. A prior test recommended that you test with your morning urine; these directions say best to test in the afternoon and reduce liquid intake 2 hrs prior to testing (to avoid diluting).Dislike: These sticks seem very wasteful/not environmentally friendly. The contents for this 30 count package is much bulkier than what I previously had with a 100 test strips and small disposable cups set.Recommend: Yes, but I’m taking one star off due to not environmentally friendly.

I've used Pregmate's dip LH test strips on and off since 2021, but this was my first time trying a midstream product. These are easy to use - just remove the blue plastic cap that covers the open end of the strip before use. There is a certain level of convenience for skipping the step of filling a cup to dip a test stick, but it comes with the trade-off of a LOT of plastic (the cap and the plastic housing around the stick). Given that you typically will be testing for LH levels at least 2-3 days every cycle (and even more if you have irregular cycles), this adds up to a lot of plastic waste.I found the strip to be just as easy to read as the Pregmate dip tests. The control line is strong and clear, making for easy comparison to the test line.

Not much to say, it's a stick, and you pee on it! Easier to use than just the strips, which worked very well for our 2nd kid with PCOS issues. Now we are trying to avoid a 3rd, so these come in handy (as a 2nd line of defense) without having a cup to dip the strip into. The visibility of the indicators seem a little better than the strips, which can start to fade as they approach the expiration date. You are looking for the test line to be the same or darker than the control. We found there is a 12 hr period where this happens, and can be hard to miss, but the shade of the test line over a couple days can really indicate your progress, and if the chance has passed, as the test line lightens in shade.

I ordered these tests for my daughter who had difficulty conceiving with her 1st child and is looking to conceive again. Because this is a test for ovulation, it's difficult to review without comparison with a lab, but in order to see if LH was detected, I tested on my own urine specimen because I'm post-menopausal (meaning LH runs high) and it should have read 'positive' - it sure did! Within the 5 min read-time, the result was clear. The QR code on the bag brings you to the website where you can download the app on iOS or Android, and that site was also very intuitive. The package arrived fully intact, the product bag was sturdy and test kits also individually wrapped with great protection and light-safe. I recommend this item at $1 per test stick, as a valuable resource for tracking the best window of time for conception!

The instructions for use are clearer on the Amazon page listing than on the website the back of the packaging takes you to. Easy enough to use.
