Now, I’m an owner of a varied collection of knives. I don’t buy junk knives & appreciate quality. This is small & compact knife. It’s very sharp. This Swedish-made knife (actually in Seki, Japan) measures 7.12 inches in overall length, with a 3.14-inch drop-point, plain-edge blade of Elmax steel with a satin finish, and a convex grind (think of axe edge). If you have large hands, knife might be a bit small for you. This is a very solid knife, well worth the cost. Before I purchased the Scout, I spent time looking at the F1 & I will in the future will purchase one, just gotta decide what version. Recommend seller.

Love the look, feel, razor sharpness and overall quality of this little knife. I'll be honest, even after reading the dimensions I thought it would be a larger knife and wasn't sure I had room in my kit for a fixie this small but after a few days it falls into the EDC category even though I've got plenty of folders. Also read a lot of negative reviews about the sheath and how it should have been leather or of higher quality (given the price of the knife) or easier for a one-handed draw blah blah blah. After using it for several days my opinion is it's ridiculously secure, easily accessed one-handed and it looks cool. You can totally spend your money on aftermarket or a custom sheath, but you don't have to. I'm glad I decided to keep it.

I've been wanting to get a Fallkniven for almost two years now but never pulled the trigger. I've bought Benchmades, Ka Bars, Mora Gerbergs and so on. This is by far the nicest knife I own. It is very robust. Sporting Elmax powdered steel the price its at now is a value. I'm overall happy with the purchase. It's extremely sharp. And the balance is perfect.

After 20 years of buying knives to find the perfect fixed blade knife I finally can stop buying knives. This knife is absolutely perfect in every wayFor an EDC fixed blade knife. Handle is very comfortable. The blade is easy to keep shaving sharp with a strop or a black Arkansas stone. There is however one thing about this purchase that wasn’t perfect. The sheath is just barely ok. I ordered a custom leather sheath but haven’t gotten it yet. I have a condor compact kephart and am using the sheath for this knife instead of the Fallkniven sheath and the condor sheathIs much better in my opinion. I will never carry any other fixed blade knife not that have this R2 scout.

As I've previously stated in reviews here on other verified purchases of fallkniven, this blade as all made by fallkniven is great. I beat them. I love them. But if all you want to do it make 1 stick fires( feathersticks etc.), use hunting for skiing and procuring meat from tendon/bone, I have dollar store knives which perform as adequately as these, sometimes better. They are over built, I always slim down grind for better performance. If purchasing, by a strop and search virtuovice on youtube to learn proper stropping. I have no affiliation with with him nor have we met or communicated.

I got an R2 and a VG10 F1, to compare them. I liked the R2 a lot better. The handle fit my hands better(glove size 10.5-11). The scandi-vex grind cuts better than the F1. The sheath is more secure and convenient. The size is better suited to my lifestyle and how I use knives. The F1 is still a really nice knife, just didn't suit me as well as the R2 Scout.
