I've had owned Cross Rider boots for 3 decades, but the last 3 pairs something changed. #1 suddenly I developed extremely stinky boots, like can't bring them into the house or the cab of the truck. Thought maybe it was insoles, replaced with fantastic quality ones, zero change. #2 Durability can't even get one season out of a pair before the plastic toe literally breaks apart. I work with special needs people via Equine Therapy, not fun during a class when chunks of plastic suddenly are flying around inside the boots. I have liked the styling forever but I had to switch brands, now no stink at all. I don't know what changed, but something definitely has. Adios Roper, please improve your quality of days ago. Sad

My husband bought these for doing work around the yard. He loves them. Sizing is good, quality excellent and super comfortable. Didn’t need to break them in at all.

I got them for an ankle brace I have to wear and they were a bit too big but other wise I like this boot.

My husband has been wearing this boot for a couple years. He works in them and likes that his inserts fit in them. He needs extra toe room and these work great for him.

The best riding boots

Due to post-bunion surgery swelling, I had no women's riding boots that fit. These boots fit well, plenty of wiggle room for my toes. A 7.0 is a bit long for my feet - a 6.5 would fit a little bit better, but at least now I can ride again! There is a nice sturdy heel that can holds a spur snugly and my half-chaps fit comfortably over the padded mid-rise/ankle area of the boot.

I love these boots! I buy two pair every year. The older ones rotate working with horses, cleaning stalls, and outside chores. They are very comfortable, wear well, and offer good arch support. I do replace the insoles after about 6 months. They have enough of a heel, I do not have to change into riding boots if I want to go out for a quick ride on one of my good horses. I do slip into my Olathe boots if riding a young horse or long ride.
