I ordered a replacement line counter for my Downrigger and this is what came from Scotty. Im pretty sure my spool will not hold that much line. Top one is the removed. Bottom is what was sent.

I purchased this to replace the one on my Scotty 1106 Downrigger.You must replace the plate & line counter as an assembly. I tried to just replace the line counter & leave my old plate in place to prevent needing to reset the brake tension. The new line counter is mounted to the plate differently than the one that I had, so it needs to be replaced as a unit..

The Scotty counter replacement is a simple replacement for your Scotty downrigger units that are not electronic. I purchased one of these units last year for my fishing boat and the process to replace was easy as opening the downrigger and using the Scotty tool that is already supplied with your downrigger to remove the old one and install the new one. I just reassembled the way I took the old one out.I reordered a second Scotty counter to replace my other Scotty counter on the other side of the boat. These are great replacements, we all know with the salt water things just wear out after time. I’d say I’ve got another 5-7 years before I’ll need to replace them again.

This was half the price on the same unit on another site. Exact fit and works great. Yes, this is the whole assembly, line counter and plastic mounting base.

Fit on 1 inch boom not exact but manageable however screws that attach fairlead halves are impossible to re-attach. Had to replace both screws and threw away the ones that came with unit. Badly machined.
