I've owned nice wustof blades and a Japanese pairing knife but nothing compares to this blade. It's a pleasure to use. My only complaint is the smooth flat blade can stick to things like apples and potatoes. You definitely have to make sure you're using a continuous fluid motion or the blade will just kind of stop. I think this is more user error, but wanted to pointed out.

This knife is pricey but it is important to have a good cutting tool….been using it for a number of months…the blade is still sharp

I had 3 shun knives, this one is the sharpest. made me look like a real skilled chef. very happy how I can slice tomato, apple, and all the vegetables. making cooking fun. glad I bought it.

I've really gotten into cooking the past 5 years or so and have started to really dabble in nicer cookware and cutlery. While every chef says you need a chef's knife, paring knife and a bread knife and that's it, I've found a lot of comfort in having specialty knives that not only keep things fresh while loving cooking prep but actually help you achieve the end product because we're not all Gordon Ramsay!In the looks department, this is a gorgeous knife! The damascus pattern on the blade is incredibly unique and if you entertain or have family gatherings every now and then, having cookware that's not only functional but extremely unique is a huge conversation starter when you start prepping, finishing or serving.
