It came with no instructions and nothing online for assembly. Once we figured out how to put it together...cheap, poor construction. Tiny tripod,falls over and won't stand up correctly.

Seems like it would be a decent product for indoor photography!? I needed something for outdoor use (w/o the use of an assistant to hold it). The product didn't hold up in windy conditions. Plus there were no instructions included & it's very hard to assemble.

Cheap. Absolutely no instructions came with it. There is a video....but its useless. The items shown are not the same. I finally managed to get the thing together. Unfortunately I waited too long to even open the box or I would have sent this pile of crap back. So 2 lessons learned for me: read the reviews before purchasing and open assembly immediately after receipt so you have time to return it.

Cheap. Absolutely no instructions came with it. There is a video....but its useless. The items shown are not the same. I finally managed to get the thing together. Unfortunately I waited too long to even open the box or I would have sent this pile of crap back. So 2 lessons learned for me: read the reviews before purchasing and open assembly immediately after receipt so you have time to return it.

why doesn’t it have directions with multiple piles like how is anyone supposed to know how to put this together???

From what I saw it was one of the least expensive options.. I decided to give it a try.I can tell you that no instructions or diagrams come with it to assemble but I think most will be okay... especially if you just use the picture on this page.Cons:- The stand has a very narrow base.- The connection between the stand and the clam is not very sturdy (update here) but can be easily fixed by replacing the round metal piece at the top of the stand with one that has an edge on 1 side. If you are a photographer like me you probably have these lying around.- For some reason there is one side to velcro on the fabrics BUT there is no reason for it....therefore whenever you want to change the fabric you will have disassemble certain parts to do sobecause the slide over the tubes (as opposed to velcro around them.Pros: -It is inexpensive-The seller is extremely responsive and cares about you liking the product. They went out of their way to make sure I was good by initiating contact with me after this review and then offering to try some other solutions. I was very impressed!The Clamshell does what it was made to do and I would reccomend to anyone on a budget.
