Bought this to melt down some scrap Into ingots to store more easily and take down work off my other forge. I’ve been able to get aluminum to melt down but that’s it, it will not get hot enough to melt copper wire thick or thin, will not get hot enough to melt brass also thick or thin. And then we get into the workmanship…. First the “powder coat” yeah no burns off the inlet and it started biting off the lid so it’ll now rust out which is just what you want right…? Ugh! The wing nut for the hold down on the inlet/intake stripped out the first time I tightened it because it’s held in by all of a thread and a half so it’ll would need a bit welded to the top to give it sufficient threads to grab the inlet/intake which leads over to the fact it leaks out the backside there and has trouble staying lit and or getting lit because of that which is oh so much fun! The brass nipple for the propane line came off the jet tube so I had to fight getting that out of the end of the line and now it’s compromised and prone to leaks so yay lucky me! The insulation inside is missing in areas so it had heating issues and heat retention issues. The tongs are decent but are super hard to use because they bind up so not fun trying to grab a hot crucible like that. The ingot mold is good no issues there and honestly the best piece of the entire set up smfh. All in all I’d rather buy another devil forge and just eat the cost up front over messing with this cheap trash again! I though I could save a few bucks and get a decent unit but I’m regretting that big time now!!! Wish I could just send it back and get my money back to put into a devil forge that I know will work like it should since I use one already. Just save your money and buy quality over this junk and don’t suffer like I did. Rating 1 star because I can’t rate it a negative 10 star review otherwise I gladly would!

This was my first propane furnace so there was some trial and error involved. With that said, once I became more comfortable with the furnace I got pretty nice results. I melted down a bunch of my soda cans I've collected and made a beautiful ingot. The most annoying part for me was having to buy a propane tank but I guess that's what I signed up for. I would recommend this to beginners like myself as It treats me well. Make sure you follow proper safety protocol as always.

This little melter works great! I have made several aluminum ingots from beverage cans and am collecting copper to do the same soon. I don't think it gets hot enough to do much beyond that but it's a fun way to recycle softer metals. The paint and coatings do burn off in spots but it doesn't affect the operation of it that I can see.

My husband got this to melt down metals. This heats hot and is so much safer than using an open pot for melting. Set comes with everything you need!

It has been a great help with my metalworking projects. Turning scrap metal into beautiful artwork such as ingots and 3D cast jewelry has never been easier. The included manual is easy to understand and great for beginners. Overall, this is an excellent smelter that offers great value and performance for any metalworking enthusiast.

Pros:Package arrived on time and was properly packaged, with no damage to the contents.Overall quality of the furnace is good.Simple to set up.Cons:Hose leaked at the end that connects to the furnace.Hose fitting appeared to be missing an O-ring.Comments:I was initially impressed with the Toauto 6kg Smelting Furnace. The package arrived on time and was properly packaged, with no damage to the contents. The furnace itself was well-built and easy to set up. However, upon testing the product, I discovered a leak in the hose at the end that connects to the furnace. I checked the fitting and realized it appeared to be missing an O-ring. This was very disappointing and potentially very dangerous.Overall, I am satisfied with the Toauto 6kg Smelting Furnace. It is a well-built and easy-to-use furnace, but I would recommend carefully inspecting the hose and fittings before using it for the first time.Recommendations:To Toauto: I recommend that you include a spare O-ring with each furnace, and that you inspect the hose and fittings carefully before shipping the product. To customers: I recommend that you carefully inspect the hose and fittings before using the furnace for the first time. If you find any leaks, contact Toauto customer service immediately.
