These are cheap shop grade gage blocks, but they all appear to be well within 0.00005". I was genuinely curious how close these sets are, and compared them carefully to a set of AS-2 grade blocks with a 0.00002" dial comparitor installed in an ancient bench micrometer, in a temperature controlled environment. I definitely trust these for comparitive measurement to +/- 0.0001" in small stacks. For basically any home shop use they are going to be accurate enough to serve as a shop standard. They wring together decently well, the plastic case they come in is well made enough to use permanently to hold them. The serial numbers and sizes are clearly marked. All the blocks were rust free. The inspection cert these come with is clearly bogus -- you can stack up the outliers and compare with an equivalent stack to see for yourself, you just need a tenths DTI to do it. No surprise there though, since you can't get a single block certified for what this whole set cost. I think everyone understands that with these import sets.

I bought a Mitutoyo caliper mic at the same time. When I checked the 4" block it read 4.000". That doesn't happen often.

This is not the most precise set you might possibly purchase. Some of the ones that arrived were off by a significant margin. That said, however, it does come with a handy sheet giving the precise measurements of each block to four decimals. So with that to calculate correction factors it's a perfectly good set for the hobbyist or small shop and the small amount of additional effort to use them is more than offset by the price.

I purchase several things on Amazon and was giving pretty in-depth reviews. From this point on, here's the new agenda…. if it works as advertised, is well made, meets or exceeds the description, is a value, and arrives in a fair amount of time, it will get a "star rating" equal to what my expectations were/are. If it doesn't meet these criteria, then I will most definitely and descriptively tell the short comings of the products and you as a consumer will not have to go through the trouble of buying the product without some background knowledge. If the sell pulls that item and relists under another description, I will put the exact same review on the seller's feedback page. Sellers have done this a couple of times in the past, and I was true to my word then as well as now. DR

Measured every single block with a .00005" mic. About 90% were within .00005", 10% within a .0001". Plenty accurate for my needs. Case is pretty nice. Pretty hard to beat the value of this set relative to cost.

Guage blocks and pin sets are necessary even for us hobby machinists but are very expensive. I haven't been able to test the accuracy of this set, but then again, I don't know the accuracy of my calipers and micrometers. If I can get access to an expensive gauge block, I can check the accuracy of this set and make adjustments. I wish I could justify the expense of a certified set, but this set was more in my price range.

This is an incredible deal. I'm a woodworker, so my tolerances aren't as tight as a machinist. These work perfect for my needs.I love the case, also. The only thing that kept me from giving 5-star: I wish the face that is marked was more consistent to indicate which is the measuring face. The gages are individually laser-etched w/ their size marking. But the face that is labeled is sometimes the gage face, sometimes it's the non-gage face. This is confusing since the gage face changes after 0.25"

Given the low price of these gauge blocks, I was hesitant to buy them; but they happened to be on sale and so I decided to try them. After all, Amazon has a good return policy on Prime items. I have a (out of control) hobby machine shop. I had seen a "similar" Mitutoyo set at a commercial machine shop before, and those had cost them $4800.I got the Wen set within a couple days, and I left it overnight to acclimatize. The next day I randomly picked 10 of the blocks, cleaned them, and checked them using a digital micrometer and a vernier micrometer. (It was a good excuse to compare the readings on my digital mic to the old-school type.)Of the 10 I tested, 7 measured spot-on, and 3 measured less than a 1/2 tenth (0.00005) out. It's also worth mentioning that the ones measuring oversize were also showing oversize on the inspection sheet that came with the set.The finish on the blocks is excellent and they easily wring together to make a stack. For my purposes, these blocks are definitely more accurate than what I need, given the measuring tools I have. Both of my micrometers can only measure to within 1/2 tenth, and beyond that it's pretty subjective.I'm super happy with my purchase.

Uso este juego de bloques patron en piso, principalmente para posicionar piezas y usar la mesa de senos, y la verdad me ha funcionado muy bien. Otras opciones estaban en 20 mil las economicas, y este la verdad cumple la funcion.

I have come to rely on WEN for quality products at a reasonable price and this gage block set is no exception. I just received these and are very impressed with their quality. The case is well made and keeps each block separated. It comes with a certificate of inspection that lists the actual measured value of each and every block to the nearest microinch. The furthest from nominal is 0.000027 inch, which is close enough for anything I will ever do! Most are much closer than that to nominal. I have tried wringing them together and have had no problem except for the larger blocks. They still wring, but it takes a bit of effort.Plan on spending an hour or so unwrapping each individual block and cleaning the oil of the blocks. This is a small price to pay for what you are getting.I can now accurately calibrate the DRO on my mill. These are a Great value for the money and I would whole heartily recommend this set for the home shop or small job shop
