I used this material to add some insulation to an oversized cover for my window air conditioner. I have to say that it is a bit difficult to handle and cut due to it being rolled up. The liner on the adhesive wrinkles up when it is unrolled. After fighting with that, it adhered well and did what it needed to do.I did order another roll to use as insulation in one of my sprinkler connection boxes to prevent the underground pipe that runs under it from freezing when we get below-zero temps. I'm interested to see how it survives the winter after it gets wet from snow and rain.

The foam is of good quality, and the adhesive backing is adequate for many applications. However, it doesn't adhere well to other foam.I got the foam to put on a CPAP machine to absorb sound waves, making it quieter. It performs that job well.I have also used the 0.25-inch thick closed-cell foam with upholstery leather backing to pad the outer socket of a prosthetic leg. It has served that function extremely well.

I ordered 3 of these, seperate orders, but all within about a weeks time. I used these as padding around 4.5 inch steel poles, so I just used gorilla tape around the whole thing, which seemed to work well. All 3 rolls were a bit different. The first roll seemed to be ok. The foam felt nice and sturdy. Adhesion was not impressive, but like I said, I reinforced with gorilla tape so poor adhesion wasn't a big deal. The second roll smelled like death and was very very stiff, more stiff than the first roll which made adhesion even worse, but still worked ok with the added gorilla tape. The second roll had some gouges in the foam which I wasn't very happy about, but I was working on a limited timeline, so I used it anyways. The third roll was very very soft foam. It did not feel sturdy at all and I don't think it will hold up as well as the others.If I didn't have a limited timeline, and the application of this product made it easier to return (If I had removed it after putting gorilla tape around it, it would have been demolished), I would have, and then tried something different.TLDR: Ordered 3 rolls, each roll was not the same quality, would not order again.

I used this in a sit-ski bucket. Works great. The adhesive is really sticky. It ships fast.

I wish I could afford to put this under all the carpeting in my house; it feels so good to walk on it! Walking and standing on it is how I tamp it down to the flat surfaces I am attaching it to for sound-muffling and insulation. The adhesive doesn't stick well to some slick surfaces and the material does shrink down an inch or so (for the five-foot-long pieces) in length once you remove it from the backing but the width stays true to 16 inches. I expect using a double-sticky-side tape if you're attaching it to something super-smooth might work. I put it on cardboard and so far it's holding on great. I covered the other side of the cardboard with reflective mylar and expect to save money on air-conditioning for my large kitchen; might not even need it anymore. Also hoping it will muffle the din from my neighbors' extremely noisy parties.
