I'm pretty sure these aren't meant for aluminum but they were the closest I could find in the right size on Amazon so I figured I'd try them. They don't leave the perfect mirror finish that proper aluminum inserts would but it's still better than a non-rounded fly cutter's finish and very fast. I've been running these 1000 SFM in aluminum at 0.002 IPT for finishing passes. The finish got less consistent at 0.003 IPT and I haven't needed to do anything but small part finishing passes so I'm happy with the rates I'm getting. I run this with only low flow air and I get occasional chip recutting so I'm sure with high pressure air or flood it would be even better.
