High Quality Construction
Our 3M Wetordry Abrasive Sheet 413Q is best suited for metal sanding and finishing thanks to its versatility and fast cutting abrasive material. Its flexible, A-weight paper backing provides smooth operation and durability and can conform to the shape of contoured parts for consistent finishing.Silicon Carbide Grain
This paper primarily uses silicon carbide, which is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and smooth finish. This synthetic mineral is very hard but fractures easily, resulting in freshly exposed sharp edges that cut extra fast and produce a smooth, professional-looking finish. Silicon carbide products are commonly used for low-pressure applications such as cleaning and finishing on paint and metal.Waterproof and Heat Resistant
This paper also uses a resin bonding which is specially designed to resist thermal and chemical deterioration, which can occur during sanding. This bond is very tough and excellent for precision work on hard and soft surfaces. This also allows for faster sanding and a higher cut rate. The waterproof coating enables the user to rinse areas of the workpiece and the paper during use to prevent dust and debris from clogging the points of the abrasive, while producing a faster cut at the same time..

Easy to apply. No need to wait for anything to dry. I like it because it can get in the little pin holes that spray can guide coat can't do nearly as well.

I used this for finish sanding from sprayed on gelcoat. Used 320 grit and it helped show where I already sanded, worked great. Enough to do an entire 20’ boat hull with lots left over.

Never used guide coat before but super easy and makes anyone into a pro body man with some time investment. Still have half a container of powder after completion of my hole car too

If you want to get the best surface consistency and perfectly feathered you need to use your hand to feel and your eyes to see with light from an angle to verify the work. A guide coat helps to find those low and high spots. Yes, you can use a can of black primer lightly sprayed to give you a guide coat but in my book, this is much easier to use, goes further and it retains the 3M quality you expect.

This is an excellent product and allows for superior visualization in the automotive body industry. Use it for sanding body fillers prior to priming, use it for sanding primer prior to painting to maximize the quality of your work. When I was a beginner without this product I always had visible spots where I did filler touch up work and with the use of this product everything has been virtually eliminated. My only complaint and why it didn't get 5 stars is the cost. If you are high volume the least you can do for yourself is save the applicator and just get the cartridge refills as this much like most 3m products is NOT cheap stuff. 5 stars if they reduce the price down at least $8-12.00. After all it is just a black powder.
