Not the best, but they work in a pinch. After a few uses they tear up wood though

They did well with soft wood as long as you take your time. Haven't tried them on hard wood, I expect them to do as well.

My first pass wasn't even conducted since it started smoking within 5 seconds. I set various speeds and still the same. I tried first maple wood, then poplar, then birch plywood. It didn't cut any of them as I stopped feeding the wood because of the burning. I did run the plywood about 6 inches, it was not a fine cut at all nor straight. It must be some super cheap metal made in China suspecting that the manufacturer mixed tin or some other soft metal in their processing. It was the worst bit I had ever encountered. It was smoking worse than my oldest bit that cut miles of wood.

I got these bits to build replacement doors for a bathroom vanity and some storage cabinets. I have a tongue and groove set, but wanted something a little fancier. They worked very well after I got them set up and they held up through six doors. They were sharp and the parts fit nicely. I used red oak, which is pretty hard, so I took my time and made a series of passes on each piece with good results. I set up each bit in a router table with an adjustable fence and routed all of the alike pieces, then moved onto the next bit. That way you only have to set up each bit once. If you haven't used a door making set like this, I recommend that you view some YouTube videos on their setup and use, and practice a bit on scrap wood until you get the hang of it.These bits have 1/4 inch shanks, so you need to let them do the work and not force them so you don't put too much strain on them. 1/2 inch shanks would be better for long term or production use, but the price was right and I decided to try them. I'm glad I did. After that workout, the bits are beginning to get a little dull, but it won't take much effort to sharpen them up again. There are YouTube videos that show that process also.

I'm building a new woodshop and plan to outfit it with hardwood cabinets. I lean more to the hobbyist end of the market, and in the past I have shied away from fancy profiles on frame and panel designs because of the costs associated with specialty router bits. This 3-piece set is sharp, capable, and costs less than just one of these bits from "higher end" manufacturers. As I've mentioned in other reviews, I believe a big market exists for non-professional woodworkers who desire certain tools or parts, but can't afford the stuff designed for daily use in a pro shop. These fit that bill perfectly and will allow me to outfit my own shop with classy cabinets. Even if I never use these bits again, they will have served their purpose and paid for themselves.Normally I would choose a 1/2" shank for use in my newer Dewalt but these 1/4" will fit nicely into my old Skil router that still fits my table insert. I can also use them in my trim router, but IMO these are best used in a table mounted rig.

Despite the economy price for the set, they are a great set of router bits. Sharp cutting edges left clean and smooth edges on some yellow pine boards I was working with. Bearings turned easy. These should be great for anyone making an occasional door for a woodworking project.
