Haven't used any of these yet (I'm still elbows deep in the first project that I bought them for). It's obvious just by looking at these that they were hand carved--machines don't leave file marks in a piece. But the people who carve these are smart enough to give the buyer the basic slot placements, and leave enough material so the nuts can be finished to fit the instrument they will be installed on. I'm pleased with what I recieved, and almost certainly will be ordering from them again. Hope they make acoustic guitar nuts as well.
