I've only used it on aluminum so far. I needed to reach in a little over 6" or 155mm on 1"1/8 or 28mm id. I got the job done with no chatter and a nice finish. I'm surprised and happy with the performance. Used on 12" manual lathe.

Run a few different large name brand comparable bars at work. This one does the trick at home on the lathe too. No notable extra vibration.

I bought this to use with my benchtop lathe. It's maiden voyage was cutting some hardened 4140 and it did very well. So well that I tried using it for facing, and later OD turning with near mirror-like finishes. The insert has held up to some interrupted cuts in 1.5" hex stock as well. I hoped this little tool would work, but I was surprised at how well it works, even on my underpowered small lathe. It takes turning hardened steels from a chore, to do-able.

I use this small boring bar all the time. It is easy to set up with its flat top. Does a nice job of boring with a good finish. The price is right. Buy one, you'll like it.

The tool itself is well built and a good bargain. Tested on both aluminum and 12L14, and cut chatter-free in both (bar extended 3" with a .005 DOC). The wrench for the insert is a piece of junk and was tossed.

Very nice boring bar. The insert on the tool is very good. The boring bar has flats on four sides makes it easy to use with just about any tool holder you have. Very pleased with the results and would not be afraid to buy other tooling from Accusize tools.
