Nice kit. I gave it 4 stars because the brushes are ok, but nothing more. They are good for beginner painters. The wooden handle palette knives are really good. They have a strong grip and the metal does not bend when using it to mix some thicker paint.

You get a bunch of stuff with this set, so it's a good value, so I would have given it 3.5 stars. The thing is, the brushes aren't the greatest quality...these are perfect for the average crafter--and I can always use spare brushes. The palette knives are average quality as well. I gave some of them to my husband and he's going to use them when he has to mix epoxy. I will use them when I don't want to use my really good palette knives.

This set is not bad. I would suggest it for beginners in acrylic and oil painting. It has everything you need to get yourself started in painting. It comes with a variety of 10 brushes, 5 steel and wood knives, 6 palette knives and a translucent palette. The steel and wood knives look like they have been used before but mine were still in the package and looked that way. So bad quality control?!?! Honestly, this set is not that bad…scrapbookers and card making enthusiasts would love this set, like me. I only need it to apply texture to stencils and various mixed media projects. If I bought the sets individually they would cost a lot more. I am very pleased with this find!

This is a great value for how much you get in the set. The brushes are good and easy to clean. The other tools are very nice too. Perfect for a beginner who needs a little bit of everything for their art projects.

I am doing the painting-by-number paintings as a hobby. After finishing the painting, I framed them to hang in my house. So I can brag to family guests.The cheap brushes that come with the painting-by-number package are pretty lousy. I am getting this paint set to get better paintbrushes. The set comes with ten different sizes for different types of brushstrokes and finer details for larger strokes. One of the nice features of these brushes is no hair loss. I like these paintbrushes because they maintain their bristles remarkably well.The transparent tray is great for holding the paint without keeping the paint tube open to prevent drying.The painting-by-number kit does not call for the use of a palette knife. I have yet to learn how to use the palette knife.Getting all these brushes, knives, and a tray at such low price, it's a great value buy.

The tools in this set are of decent quality and a good choice for any hobbyist. My wife used them to paint along with an episode of Bob Ross, and the resulting picture came out beautifully. They might not be pro level, but they are an excellent value.
