Adaptec has been eaten by microsemi, but their legacy drivers are still available. The proper one for 64 bit Windows 7 (and Windows 10, so far as I can tell) is currently available here: [...]

Who still uses SCSI?I, for one. I have a large investment in legacy U320 drives that just will not die. When many are on their second, third, or fourth SATA/IDE drives, I still have U320 SCSI drives ten years old that are still running without errors and as fast as they were new. These enterprise drives were built like tanks. Yes, they are not as fast as a solid state drive. But they don't get corrupted easily either. Or get toasted the first time your 1500 Watt gaming PS takes a ****. As far as speed goes, I have benchmarked my Fujitsu and Hitachi 15K drives at a max of 120 MHz, which is not bad for a mechanical HDD sustained transfer rate.Which gets us to this controller card. Pretty much the only controller available for a modern PCIe equipped mb. I have two of these installed on a Supermicro C7Z170 (z170 chipset) mb to run two separate channels. Still works in a Super 743 chassis with the QLogic Gem 318 hot swap bays. BTW, you can get the GEM318 drivers right from the Win 7 list of System devices (no more "unknown device" entries in Device Mgr).Long live SCSI!

Works great with Server 2008 R2, Backup Exec, and an HP Autoloader.I wish SCSI would just go away, but this helps me to continue to at least modernize the servers that are attached to tape libraries.

Perfect for what was needed. How can one review a computer component?

The Amazon forum was a BIG help and the vendor was very very helpful. The device is an improvement over the one I had. If you are of the SCSI mindset and have PCIe slots, this card is something you should consider.

I had to want for this this card to come out for a long time since Adaptec first came came out with a SCSI 360 card only for PCI-X at first! Only with the the support of others out there did Adaptec make a card that we could use too, Thank you all very much for that help! This is a great card, because after putting it into my computer Windows 7 ultra was able to identify it and load the drivers to make it work very soon afterwards.Until I got that card inside my computer my drives were going half speed at U160 since the only card I had in it at the time was the 29160N. It is not a bad card, but the new card was able to to speed up my drives to the U360 speed that they were made for!I urge anyone that has the same issue with U320 drives but only U180 speed to get this card as well. Adaptec may not make this card very much longer so getting this card very soon would be a very wise choice to make.

We installed the adapter in a Dell Poweredge T610. The driver was built into the SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 O/S. We connected a Tandberg LTO-3 tape drive and it's very fast. It's a Xen host and we are in the process of trying to use it from a guest O/S but are having problems. These problems are not related to the card but to xen pci-passthrough itself.
