Most everything I liked about this sump except for two things. First of all they give you a rubber washer for the main tensioning screw that holds everything together. As soon as you tighten that with any pressure it squirts the rubber washer out. What it really needs is a nylon washer that will not collapse under pressure. The other thing is it only comes with a 5/8 in barbed fitting which seems kind of overkill. I had to purchase a smaller one and it was 1/2" npt x 3/8" barbed hose fitting.

I liked the ease of installation. What I'd like to know is, what is the drain plug size (dia./thread).?I have a '55 Ford F100 with a new EFi, I had to relocate elect fuel pump to a lower spot, so fuel can gravity feed the elec fuel pump. So far so good. I would like to know drain plug specs please.

I think these are meant for plastic tanks. The included hole saw was able to cut through the bottom of my OEM square body tank ok but had to go slow and the pucker factor was high since ... Gas.Either way this solved the problem with my aftermarket tbi and the fuel pump cavitating since the the fuel like runs straight out of the bottom of the tank to the pump.It sump behaviour is great, I was running just fine with .4 gallons left in a 16 gallon tank. I like the drain plug but once you remove it better put some thread sealant on it or it will weep.Lastly and the only reason not a 5 star review. The oring on the bolt that clamps it down is a one time use thing. If you loosen it back up so you can clock the outlet to point in a different direction you need to replace the orinf or it will weep.

This fuel tank sump kit is an excellent option for protecting diesel injectors on common rail injection systems from sediment blocking the factory draw straw screen or introducing air into the supply lines. The machined finish of the kit's aluminum sump and inner ring retainer plate is high quality, with smooth surfaces that help with a good seal between the tank and the sump kit. The kit includes a hole saw for installation. Be cautious during installation; a friend of mine accidentally drilled into the sending unit assembly while installing a similar sump kit.Installing the seal between the sump and the bottom of the tank is challenging. The sealing ring's diameter is slightly smaller than the groove in the sump. The sump and inner ring have a machined ridge to keep them centered on the hole and ensure a proper seal with the tank. The fuel hose connection is barbed, similar to my FASS lift pump. Although the hose probably didn't need it, I still installed hose clamps for extra security. The kit did not include a plug for the factory supply line, which needs to be plugged during installation. I used a large vacuum port plug with a hose clamp on the tank's supply quick connector port. There is a drain plug next to the mounting bolt for draining the tank and cleaning sediment. The drain plug was extremely helpful when I had to replace the fuel level sending unit two days after installing this kit.Overall, this sump kit offers good quality at a very modest price compared to other kits on the market. The fit and finish after assembly are excellent, with no leaks. The FASS lift pump is noticeably quieter after installation. This sump kit provides a less restrictive and increased supply volume (bigger hose) from the tank. I highly recommend this kit.Why This Kit Is Important:After owning several trucks with the first-generation Duramax (LB7), I have learned a few key points about protecting the injectors. Adequate fuel supply and high-quality filters are essential; the single stock fuel filter is not enough. For LB7 trucks, running a good lift pump with additional filters and a sump kit is a crucial step to protect the injectors.
