Bought this as a christmas present for my boys & seemed play when I was putting it together. The wood supplied for this is sub par and very fragile. Have had screws fall out & wood crack already. With even one of the boys in it, about 54 pounds, the whole structure sways. I bought longer & better anchors but that still doesn't help. On top of that thought it was going to be a little bigger but it is kind of small, that one is on me though. Would not buy again. Might be good for toddlers but not for a 7 & 9 year old.

The quality of the Avenlur Hawthorn is excellent for the price! The instructions are good, just a few things that I would have appreciated to be a little clearer. It could have been just me since I am 74 putting it together myself!! That alone should tell you how easy it is. The company is extremely helpful, polite and you can understand them, lol!!

Last and final update for this playset as we are just going to take it down and set it out for the trash: We are still not even a year into owning it and the playset looks as if it is 10+ years old. Minus several pieces that are broke and cannot be played on all together, the wood looks absolutely disgusting. We have another playset from another brand that is 4 years old never been stained or treated and looks a lot better than this playset. We were really hoping to have a climbing center for our climbing lover kids but this was not the quality that we expected. Just want buyers to beware for the amount of money you are spending that it is definitely not worth it.Updating again after 6 months: we received the new boards from the company and we replaced them April 6. Fast forward to May 24 and the screws are literally breaking in half again on the same boards that the company replaced. For only being one month old again the screws should not be breaking and neither should the boards. We can't even try to replace them again because each time since they screws are broke off we have to move the board to be screwed into a new hole so that we are not hitting the old screws. Also for the whole playset only being 6 months old it looks like it is starting to mold and looks absolutely disgusting. I was really hoping this would be a playset that we could love for a long time and unfortunately it just isn't.Updated to add: After 3 months of contacting the company to try to get the pieces replaced we finally got them, and So far they have held up better than the old ones and have not broke.We purchased this for a Christmas gift and we put it together on Christmas Eve. My kids only got to play on it 3x before the screws are literally snapping in half and it is falling apart. The wood is now bowed and it is on an area that my children never even played on (the top of the structure). Very disappointed in this purchase for $900 you would think it would be better quality.I have contacted the company and their response was to send me new screws to fix the problem. New screws aren't going to fix the bowing wood and not only that but 2 months old the screws should not be snapping in half and breaking. Again absolute junk!!

This play set is the exact size and shape I have been envisioning for a while. We had a small issue with assembly, but customer support immediately replied, helped solve our issue and compensated us for our trouble. I was so thankful for the kindness and consideration I received. Once assembled, it is very sturdy, great size for our medium sized yard, and all of my kids from ages 2-11 have loved playing!
