Remove any remaining pieces from old cap.
These are typically located around the edge of the shifterand can be removed with a sharp object. Be careful not to hurt your fingers.
Line up the clips
On the cap so they straddle the mating pieces. After that, press it down firmly. Only by aligning, it is easier to press in.
Press Shifter Knob Chrome Cap
Push cap down firmly until clips snap onto the shifter. All the buckles are buckled up, so they are not easy to fall off.

This item does NOT fit on the F150 as it turns out the factory one is a part of the whole shift knob. Broke my original trying to pull it off and once off, this new unit does not go back on.
