I use server racks as my desk legs. This rack fits all standards and is a solid cantilever shelf. I mounted it upside down to use it as more of a general shelf than a sunken bin, and after months it still holds up perfect.There isn't much more to say. It did everything I wanted and needed and does it while looking good enough to sit in with my expensive setup.

You might be confused with the headline. So let me explain. This shelf comes in three main parts, two sides and the shelf. The sides come with several holes allowing you to set it with a tilt or use it flat. It also allow you to select whether you want or need to use it with or without a lip. Or should I better say lip up or down.I like that it is highly slotted for good ventilation. A lot of other shelf don't have them. So fans are sometimes added to the rack to draw out the heat. It feels study and is able to support quite a bit of weight. Not that I'm using for that. It just happened that when I was installing it, I needed to shift a few thing around and loaded it up while I moved the other shelfs around.Overall, This is a pretty nice shelf. If I need another I will defiantly get it again. Highly recommended.

On par with other shelves at this price point, i feel it is just as good as any other, though it has 1 feature that separates itself from the rest. You can configure it with or without the lip!Comes with all necessary hardware to install. Fits well and have plenty of slots for vent, airflow or attach cable ties to.You can configure it with the lip facing up (lip in front and back) or down as to not interfere with devices larger than 10" though I do not know if it truly support 40lbs on this shelf but, it is solid enough to hold a 12 bay NAS which i did not weigh but is darn heavy..Not that you should need it but it does come with instructions that are fairly straight forward. Nice touch.

So I'm using this rack shelf as an easy way to hold my two Western Digital NAS devices in my rack. It's holding both my 4 disk NAS's without a problem, and with plenty of room.The rack was easy to install with just a screw driver and the supplied wrench (the phillips screw driver is not included).Simple two brackets and you're good to install. Comes with the Cage Nuts and the screws for the cage nuts. Flat black painted and vented to allow some airflow.This would be great to hold your desktop switch or your cable modem in a wall rack or home server rack. I am really impressed and would order another one in a heartbeat if I need another rack.

if you need a 1u shallow depth shelf for such things as a micro pc, or a NAS, then this is as good as any other solution. if you need it to support more weight, than I would like for a single piece metal shelf instead.This shelf needs to be assembled when received. it goes together easy and comes with a wrench to hold the nuts while the screws are tightened with a screw driver, though I did not need the wrench. it has no problem holding my NAS, though it is very light and it is the perfect depth allowing me to have my fiber router behind it (which you cannot set on it's side because it will shut down).

This took only a couple of minutes to get screwed together and stood into my network rack. The directions were nice and clear and it came with all the screws, nuts and rack nuts needed to do everything. It feels pretty sturdy and doesn't seem like it should have any issues supporting equipment in the rack.It does have the option to reverse it when mounting it so as to have no lip, but I'm that configuration a bit of the 1U height it's lost, so I think most people, myself included, will opt out of using that. But nice to have options I suppose.With no major issues so far, I don't have any problems recommending it.

I personally prefer rack shelves made of a single piece of metal; this one is 3 pieces plus bolts/nuts. That said, this is a good small equipment shelf, with some added security in that it's got a tall rear lip and short front lip. The sheetmetal is medium thickness and more than adequate for what this can hold.
