The "insulation" comes smashed flat. It is not slit, you can't place it on the pipe. I tried slitting myself, but there is no way to seam it and make it look descent. I had to go to the local plumbing supply house for real pipe insulation.I can see why it is a often returned item.

This fits quite nice and has held up fine for many months; remaining intact and functional for the entire summer last year. I wrapped the foam tubing in "Polyken" adhesive-backed aluminum tape to preserve it against UV damage. The only thing worse than missing hvac insulation is old sun-rotted hvac insulation! So far my outdoor AC condensor has not had any more line sweat problems. My ac unit actually is slightly more efficient now; running a slightly shorter period of time, per chill-cycle.

I ordered the largest diameter size available and it was still too narrow for my regular AC pipe. So I used one side which covered about 2/3 and then added another piece on the opposite side to completely surround the pipe. By doing this the 6 ft length can only cover 3 ft and requires additional work. The thickness appeared to be less than other pipe Insulation purchased at the big box stores.

Hubby and I live in our rv, and right now we're in Arizona for the summer. We don't want the blazing summer sun to rot our water hose, so we're going to use this pipe insulation as UV protection for the hose. The insulation is useful for many things, and is perfect for our hose. It's pre-split, so unlike pool noodles, we don't have to cut it to fit it over the hose, plus it has glue to seal it back to itself so it won't come off.

I ordered this pipe insulation for some water pipes in my well house; however, the insulation can be used for anything you like—to insulate something or make something soft. It is made of nitrile rubber and comes with four pieces that are each 6 ft. long. The inside diameter is 5/8", and the insulation is 3/8” thick. The insulation does not have a cut seam along its length, so I took some ordinary scissors and cut a seam. I wrapped it around my water pipes and placed some duct tape around it for security. The product is easy to use and doesn’t require any special skills or training. It seems that the price point is a bit high, but I don’t have anything equivalent to compare it against right now. So far, I have no problems or criticisms to report.

I ordered this pipe insulation to repair the insulation on our outdoor A/C unit. It has worn away with weather. I ordered 3/4 ID insulation. The insulation I received doesn't fit at all. Way too small! I'd suggest you look elsewhere.

This nitrile rubber pipe insulation is good quality and beefy enough to be worth the effort to install it. Note that it doesn't come pre-slit, so you either will have to slide pipes into it, or cut it length-wise to slip onto already-installed pipes. Though the R-value isn't stated, the foam is dense and resilient, and the dimensions are as advertised.
