I'm impressed with how effective and simple these are. The body is a tougher spring than you'd find on most handle-holders, because normally that would result in too much friction, but the rubber rollers on the tip let the handle rotate past with about 5lbs of force. (That's more than comfortable finger-force, but pretty comfortable for arm-force) Meanwhile, it will hold about 10lbs of vertical weight without slipping. I was surprised that it would hold the weight of my electric string trimmer.It seems designed for a 1-inch diameter handle, and I was surprised to find that every handle in my whole house is 1-inch diameter. (mop, paint roller, rake, snow shovel, string trimmer, broom)The finish is nice, and it even comes with caps for the screws. The rubber and plastic are all that touch your handle, so it won't scratch up metal handles.The one downside is that the clearance is smaller than I'd like, to be able to get my fingers behind the handle. For that matter, you'll probably need to space it out from the wall to hang larger garden tools. For the garage, I probably would want to mount them on a horizontal board anyway, though, so that I can hang it on the studs and not the drywall, and the small size helps with tighter spaces like a hall closet. So, not a much of a downside.

I've used several broom holders in the past, and the issue was always that they were fixed on a bar, not allowing for customizable spacing. These holders, however, are individual units that you can space out as needed. Another advantage is that they don't need to be in a straight line, so you can hang items like brooms, mops, and floor dusters without having them all aligned. The clamps are very secure, and the design is both simple and effective.
