This is just the cooking thermometer you need. It’s tall for any stock pot with a clip to secure it in place. It’s spot on with the temperature. It easily rinses off and so easy to read the temperature. Take the plunge. It’s worth it. The center back clip adjusts to the pan.

Thermometer contents were separated and no amount of tapping or shaking would bring it together. Thermometer was useless and was thrown out. What a waste!

This is great for candy making. I use it to make candy apples. It's easy to use with the clip on the back, easy to read, and 99.9% accurate. When using it to make candy, and any type of soft crack candy/ coating. I find that this thermometer to me is about 5 to 10° off from being accurate. I say that because when making candy. I usually remove the pot at 280° for light colors and 300° for regular color, but it seems like the candy gets too dark when it reaches 280°. So I remove at 270 to 275° or 290 to 295° and its perfect. I love that fact that it has a lift so you don't have to worry about the thermometer touching the bottom of the pot getting an even more Incorrect reading.

We like that this one has a sliding adjustor to attach to lots of pot sizes. It also has feet so the temperature is more accurate. Worked great on our first batches of Christmas candies and cookies.

I purchased this unit because I was tired of having to stick a digital thermometer every few minutes to see if the required temp had been reached. Just clip it to the pot and walk away and every little bit glance over to see if I have my temp.I found that depending on the pot I use, the clip comes off to easily so I have to attach it again. Also, depending on the angle, it can be hard to read so you have to come up close to read it to make sure it's right.Other than that, a real handy unit and would recommend.

Amazing candy thermometer, I have been using an all glass one and always afraid I would break it. Not with this one as it is in cased in stainless steel. Clips to my pot securely compared to my glass one. No longer afraid when making my syurps, candies to carmalized sugar for flans. I can easily see what temperature my recipe is at. Highly recommended for those candy makers
