The viewer saves you from neck and back pain from being in uncomfortable positions when viewing nearly overhead for astrophotography.Only problem is the adjustment for changing angle of viewer is a bit too loose. I solved the issue by sticking a small thin piece of cardboard in the space in between the upright angle section and the clip on section for added tension.

I purchased the Canon angle finder at a higher price than the aftermarket versions because I thought it would be of higher quality. Unfortunately the angle finder did not meet my expectations. While it worked adequately at 1.25x, viewing at 2.5x was an impossible blur. The dioptric adjustment would not bring the screen image into focus, despite having a considerable adjustment range. In addition to the dioptric failure, the angle finder adapter's fit was loose on the eyepiece. It would be very easy for the angle finder fall off the camera while carrying it.

I am very happy with this product. At 6'2" I have to stoop over to do good portraiture work. Taking a picture from too high and the image is out of proportion and not flattering. Having the angle finder allows me a much more comfortable stance. I took the adapter on a photo trip to Yosemite and it made night and landscape photography easer where I no longer had to depend on the active display (not easy to see in bright light, or ruins your night vision in the dark) or smash your face against your tripod.I was surprised that it works well with my glasses. I usually use a cup adapter on my viewfinder so I can get a good view but it wasn't necessary with the angle finder. I also found that it's diopter adjustment has more range and I could adjust it far enough so I could use it without my glasses. It came with two viewfinder adapters, the smaller is the right size for the Canon 5d models as well as many of the modern EOS models (check compatibility). I was happy to find that the larger adapter was the right size for my old Canon EOS A2 film camera so I didn't have to purchase any additional adapters. The only problem I ran into is how easy it is to knock the level that selects 1.25x and 2.5x out of its setting. Multiple times I'd bring the camera to my eye to find the image cropped (magnification on) or in a way I can't get into focus (level in between the two settings).Pros:* Clear viewfinder that shows the image the right way around (not like old TLR cameras with a standard top side viewers)* Sturdy connection to the viewfinder adapter.Cons:* Too easy to change from 1.25x to 2.5x magnification when you don't mean it

Nice piece of gear, lots of notes here. The finder is a little frail for my likes, but I do use it. It does provide convenience and a different camera prospective when using the finder. The little zoom/power advance works well and lets you see more detail. On the same subject it also cuts out a portion of your screen when you view through it. I would still use it. The order came in timely and was undamaged. Thank you.

The Canon Angle Finder fits my Canon Digital Rebel and my 1970's Canon FTb for B&W film. It works perfectly for an SLR camera for getting down to the level of subjects shorter than me, which is just about everybody in the human race. I use it on nearly every photo shoot when I want a different angle for a photo and keeps me off my knees. It slips on easily and stays in place. It's a high-quality optic device at a reasonable price. It easily fits in a trouser or shirt pocket and comes with a useful case to keep it neat.

As a wildlife photographer with a stiff back and neck I was looking for an alternative to my skimmer ground pod and whimberly gibled head for low angle shots with my canon 1d mk III /500mm f4 set up. Being able to set up and look down would relieve my back problem and allow for low angle shots. When I first put the angle finder on the mk III it fit ok however the second time it was very loose and i found it difficult to use and lost many good shots of a group of shore birds until i took it off and discovered that the springs were very loose. I pushed them back into place with my finger which improved the fit but any adjustment and the adapter loosened up again. Others have reported this same problem. The optics seem ok. I would recommend this for a static set up but not for any dynamic subject. Note, the box that contained this product is labeled made in china. All of my other canon product boxes say "made in Japan".
