These are pleasantly simple in their operation; the lens is the on/off/mode button. Brightness is more than adequate, even in bright daylight and battery life is good for >5 hours. Full aluminum construction so they are easily tough enough for the trails, but I would be very surprised if the fell off, the strap is also good quality. They fit nicely under the seat and stem and the weight is negligible.

The headlight is not nearly bright enough, strap broke first day, battery life is short. But customer service seems good they were quick to send out a replacement Strap

All Cateye products are great, but I really do like this orb for a rear tail light. I really like you can disconnect the light from the mounting bracket so you can recharge it. I live in Chicago where they steal everything, So it's nice to be able charge it without having to take the whole mountingbracket off every time.I zip tie The Rubber mounting to the bike, to make it more difficult from it getting from stolen🤞

To my mind and from my experience, these lights are all you need. Assuming that you don’t ride at night and are only concerned with being seen in traffic, that is. They don’t put out crazy lumens, but it’s more than enough to get cars to notice you— and that makes it easier on the batteries. Nevertheless, run-time seems to be it’s only drawback. On the setting with the least amount of draw, I would estimate that I can only get in about six hours of riding time without them petering out. And I ride a lot. Bear in mind that it can take about 2-3 hours for them to fully charge; fiddling around with USB cables which, on my Mac anyway, have to connect with another thunderbolt cable; unscrewing the housing, trying a few times before getting the teeny USB terminal orientation right, etc. A real pain. Honestly, I’d rather use the other Cateye version that uses coin batteries; identical otherwise. I have two pairs of those. CR 2032’s are cheap; time is not. Other than that, the unit’s bands stay firmly attached and are easy to mount. Extremely low-profile, too—even aero—and, even more importantly, the rear light doesn’t rub against the inner thigh when moving through the pedal stroke.
