Pro: worked every time my dad tried to get out of bed. choices of alerts makes it nice and not scare the crap out of both you and the one that it is clipped to. Ability to be clipped to a bed or a chair is great.Con: none.

We were looking for something to alert us if our elderly parent (with dementia) got up from her chair when we were either turned away or left the room for a moment. While we gave her a bell to ring when she wanted to get up, she did not always remember to use it, or would ring it and immediately start getting up before we reached her chair. This device was so easy to use. We attached it to the chair and clipped the other end to her clothing. It immediately alerted us as soon as she began to stand up. While it was highly portable and could easily be transferred to another chair, we felt the reasonable price allowed us to purchase a second one for when she sits in another room.We previously had a chair pad alarm that would sound off when she got up but we did not like this for a number of reasons: (1) The pad and monitor were quite expensive. (2) The pad had internal batteries that could not be replaced and so after 6 months when the pad no longer worked we had to throw it out.
