I don’t know how old those past bad reviews are or if the model was upgraded but I just ordered the black model. Mine did not come apart into pieces like shown in previous pictures and videos. It is a solid piece I have used it 4 times since it was delivered 2 days ago. I love it! Does not take any force or effort to use like other graters. Easy to clean just rinse when your done using it. Good value for the price!

NO!! This isn't the one you want!! I chose this item, one of the least expensive rotary graters thinking it would work sufficiently well for my needs. That's a big NO!! This is flimsy and extremely difficult to handle. I wouldn't take it even if you gave it to me. Here are a couple of ways I use a rotary grater: grate/freeze 4 oz baggies of mozzarella so it's ready to go for homemade pizza and butter for use in baking biscuits, etc. I put the cheese and butter in the freezer for a few minutes prior to grating just to make sure it's not too soft. The ability to secure this rotary grater to the counter top with a strong suction is so helpful. I ended up ordering the following model instead of this silly little thing and it works great: Ourokhome Rotary Cheese Grater Hand Crank, Kitchen Shredder Speed Mandolin Slicer Ice Shaver with Handle and Drum Blades for Cheese, Vegetable, Nuts, Chocolate, Potato, Carrot, 5 Blades, Dark Blue.

Works great and extremely easy to use. No idea how to clean it though. It's the size of a regular cheese grater so it doesn't take up too much space.

Very worth it because grating by hand was a pain. However the internal cylinder stripped already so I have to hold it while I grate so it doesn't pop out. Very useful, but wish the quality was a bit better.

This makes grating small blocks of cheese very easy. It is not heavy duty, but it gets the job done. Easy to use and clean. I likeIt!

I purchased one of these and it works great so I decided I'd get a second one since the first got used often and was sometimes in the dishwasher. What a mistake. The first one has a handle that is threaded and screws into the grater drum. The second one has a bayonet style mount. When I received the second one, the drum didn't even turn so I sent it back and got a replacement. The replacement lasted exactly one use. Well, technically it didn't even last that long. It didn't grate the cheese and worse yet, the piece that holds the cheese broke. At this point, I can't be bothered to even return the thing. My time is worth more than the purchase price. Into the trash it went. So, IF (and that's a big IF), you can get one with the threaded handle instead of the bayonet handle you might just get a great grater (see what I did there?). If not, be prepared to waste your time packing and returning it.... Buyer beware.Update: as of today, 1/11/24 it looks like they may have the older version that I have and love. I'm gonna take another chance cuz I still want a second one. The reason I think it's the good version with the threads is due to the fourth picture. The smaller picture labelled "2" shows the threads and looks exactly like the good one I have. I noticed that when I purchased the bad ones, you could see the bayonet style mount and there were two slots cut into the plastic on either side of the handle. I'll update this review when I get the new one.Update: 1/31/24 I received the new one and sure enough, it's the old style I love. It has the handle that is threaded and screws on to the rest of the grater. I'm going to leave this as a one star review however so folks that read it will be able to identify which of the two is currently being sold. PLEASE NOTE: If you can get the one with the threaded handle it is a FIVE STAR DEVICE!!! I LOVE that I now have two and they are getting used regularly!!
