this is a very handy piece of kit. Generally I would just carry a tarp and lay my ropes out on this to try and protect them from dirt and debris. Particularly cactus spines and sharp rock chips are a concern in my area. This is even better since it works as a great place to stack the rope and keep ropes separated for rescue systems. And, if you don't actually need it for ropes it is just a handy size for general storage. It does have holes in the bottom for drainage and getting out debris, handles and loops where you can clip carabiners and hold on for rope stacking. Only time will tel,l but it seems durable and I will certainly get some good use out of it.

This BAG/BOX seems to be sturdy and made well. I'm 81 years old so don't do any climbing. So won't be using this for ropes. I got this to use as a tote bag in our travel trailer. I think it will work nicely for that purpose. Until the weather warms up we will use it for a recycling bin in our home kitchen. Some have mentioned that it can be tricky to unfold and fold up again. I was having a particularly difficult time unfolding it. I finally figured out that if I hold it in front of me with the side with the CAMNAL brand name upright and facing me it made it a lot easier. MAKE SURE THAT ALL OF THE OPEN SIDES ARE AT THE TOP EDGE. Grasp the front edge with one hand and the rear edge with the other hand and just pull them away from each other. It can still be a bit tricky but if I start with that arrangement I can usually figure it out.

I live in a studio apartment. space is limited. I buy different utility boxes to find the strongest to be storage for heavy equipment such as waffle iron, blenders, etc. I chose this box because when not in use, it folds into a small triangle. So, I can tell you this . . . It does fold into a triangle when not in use. At first, I did have a difficult time turning it into a box. After 10 minutes, I had to view the video, which did not help at all. There is a twisting trick that unlocks the triangle. Once open, the sturdy, thick, canvas bag is durable and sturdy enough to hold small heavy items. It is made of a steel frame, covered with high end canvas. It is durable, sturdy, and actually good looking. On a shelf, it hides the heavy appliances I need to use almost on a bodily basis. I will be buying others in the future.

Not very durable, probably will end up just using this to store rope in. Pretty pricey for that purpose.

If you haven't used one of these then your missing out. You could use a 5 gallon paint bucket as well. However, I wanted something that took up less space when not in use. I can't advise on the durability as I only used this for about a week. However, during that time it held up fine and is still fully functional with no wear. Keeping your line and your throw bag is super easy with this set up and I'm soooo glad I got it.

Once you get it unfolded and onto the ground it works well. Doing so can be tricky if you don't know how these bags are folded. This one also relies heavily on having all 4 corners on the ground to remain stable which is odd, maybe its just from being folded for so long but I feel like my other cubes will maintain their shape a little better. Still a good cube made of nice fabric. Does a nice job catching and holding a throw line while getting set up.

As others have mentioned this is a light duty rope bag mainly for throw lines. I am going to use it on deck of my boat for anchor line where it won't get a lot of hard use. I think it might actually be priced just a bit more than it's worth in terms of material and the light spokes. On the plus side, it's a good size and has some thoughtful features included but again, th ematerial is flimsy and light. The only negative I can really gripe about is getting it to unfold and fold. I wish there was something on the included literature about it. I seem to have an easier time folding it up than unfolding and no matter how close I watch that happen so I can do the opposite........it just gives me fits. Repetition is key I'm sure. LOL

I use throw line/bag cubes daily on the job and there are some good ones ... and some bad ones. This one is flabby and lacking structure. It also has holes in all 4 corners that can let the line and/or bags themselves fall out. It's harder to open than most cubes and is just not that sturdy.Oddly they call it a climbing rope bag. What??? It's not meant for climbing ropes as it's collapsible and these are used for throw lines. So that's little surprise: the marketeers don't even know what it's for. I'd pass on this one unless you need a very mediocre backup.
