Worked like a champ. This functioned basically exactly like a sump pump with no problems. I ran it for almost 2 hours and it kept going. All good. I would order again.

I got this specifically because it can work with Makita batteries and I have a bunch already. Note that it does come with 2x 2.0AH batteries and a charger too - and they work with Makita tools (though 2.0AH is small for any high-draw use). The actual use of this is fairly straightforward - slide in the battery, attach hoses to either side (it uses ordinary garden hose connectors), flip the switch above the battery, and it's on the way. You control the speed via the button beneath the handle (and it shows the battery life remaining too there). There's also a flashlight on the front that's actually decently bright. You get the best battery life/output combination by using the medium speed for the pump. But note that if you use the slow one then it's about enough time to charge one battery while the other is going (so you could run is more or less constantly). This does chew through batteries pretty quick, but it is a continuously running motor, so it does make sense.I've docked it a star for a couple reasons. The first is that the various switches don't make much sense. You'd think the button (marked with the power symbol) beneath the handle that controls the speed would turn on the pump and control the speed, not just control the speed. The slider switch on top of the handle by the hose connections also looks like a natural on-off switch, but it just does the flashlight. It does feel like an old-style big battery flashlight when you use it like that, which is nostalgic. Also on that one, it's not off->low->high it's low->off->high (a bit counterintuitive). But yes, so those two buttons/switches make more sense as the on/off switch, but no - there's a separate third one that turns the whole thing on and off (and starts the pump). I also am not a fan of the enclosed battery box - it does fit a 5.0AH Makita battery with adequate space around it, but getting the batteries in and out is much harder than the normal exposed batteries (not much space to grip it and pull while you're pressing the unlatching button in, where if it's exposed you can use the whole battery as leverage). It's easier if you use the 2.0AH batteries it comes with (because they don't fill the space as much), but still not ideal. I also don't like it as much because it contains the heat instead of letting it be exposed and able to waft away better. On the other hand it protects it from occasional splashes or such - you'll have to decide if that's worth it.All in all it's a good portable pump, just keep in mind the switch weirdness.

This thing works great and has more capability than I expected. It works great with all my Makita 18v batteries. Only used it once but so Far Zim very pleased with the purchase

I have ordered some Mellif products in the past and they have been great. The pump here is no exception it is a solid build and comes with everything you need to get started. The instructions are easy to understand and its super easy to get started. It comes with 2 batteries and a charger to boot. The batteries fit my other Makita 18v tools as well. The only thing that was strange is that the batteries don't fit my Makita charger and have to be charged with the supplied charger because they don't have that yellow connector in the center like my other batteries have. The pump is great for small jobs and really small and convenient to have for many situations. The pump light on the front is actually nice and bright and could come in use in certain situations. Easy to pack up and carry anywhere and with the battery operation no need for power at the location. I would easily recommend this to others. Thumbs up!
