This is an excellent light weight case at a great price. It’s not designed to be travel-rated but for everyday transport it is perfect. And at just over 8 lbs, it is easy to carry. I initially had problems ordering it because Amazon said they couldn’t ship it to me but could ship to my daughter, less than an hour away. After over an hour on the phone with Amazon customer support, I had resigned myself to driving to pick up the case. Then a few days later, I checked and it was magically available. Kudos to Amazon programming team for following through!

Love this case. My cello's upper and lower bout measurements are at the maximum specifications listed so I was a little worried about the size but it fits my 4/4 cello like a glove.Very sturdy exterior with decent padding inside and two straps to secure the cello neck and scroll inside. Zipper, two straps, handles that velcro together and "backpack" style straps for the outside. Love that it opens up like a suitcase as I was tired of putting the cello in and pulling it out of a gig bag that would inevitably knock a tuning peg wasting valuable lesson time retuning everything. Have barely needed to touch the cello's tuning pegs since investing in this case as it just doesn't get knocked about like it used to despite being hauled between home and elsewhere at least twice a week.Inside there is a lined pocket (under where the neck goes) that is big enough to store rosin, the cello endpin anchor and spare strings. There is space and straps for two bows as well.Outside there is another good sized unpadded but sturdy zippered pocket plus a larger thin, unpadded pocket with a zipper big enough for a thin music book/sheet music.Shipping was quick and the case was packed inside a plastic bag inside a sturdy cardboard box that arrived completely mangled by the shipping company. Looking at the box and plastic bag when it arrived I was certain that the cello case would be damaged because of how badly damaged the box and plastic bag was but I was pleasantly surprised that the case itself was perfect. It passed the worst stress test with flying colours.For Cdn$270 with taxes and shipping it was hands down the best deal that I could get anywhere at the time (new or second hand) and I am thrilled with this purchase. There is quite literally nowhere to store a bow in this case. They add straps on this inside that look like they are meant to hold a bow sleeve, but they are absolutely way to small. Unless you're playing a cello with a 1/2 size violin bow, you're not going to use this bag.
