I would have given a five star review if there were instructions included. It took some time to figure out which way the flap should be placed. Otherwise, working as expected.

This foot valve works great with the 3” trash pump I use for pulling water out of creeks and ponds for fire emergencies. Flapper valve keeps the suction line full of water so it is not necessary to RE-prime the pump.

I got this and the entire thing didn't work. I called the company who makes them and they were very friendly and tried to give me support but despite making the needed adjustments I still lose all the water in my line everytime I turn my pump off. I did not have this issue with the previous foot valve until rust caused it to freeze up.

I purchased two of these for a 2" centrifugal irrigation pump. Both arrived in good condition and were given a quick inspection. the 2" NPT female threads were cut cleanly and the PVC fittings I use threaded in nicely. The three bolts that hold this unit together were not snug, but before tightening them up I removed the nuts and put some thread locker on them. After installation was complete I primed the pump and ran it for 24 hours. Subsequent pump starts were smooth and did not require priming the pump. So for now these foot valves are performing as designed, but should I have any issues I will update this review.
