Lever for the lock assembly has a different stud on it that does not fit the oem lock. So now my hatch does not lock. The plastic return spring does not stay put and slides over the lever it is supposed to push back. Yes my hatch opens now.. if thats all you care about then this would work for you. Other than those issues, the quality seems to be okay. Time will tell

I received this part on Aug 2nd, 2024. Dorman has significantly beefed up the part that usually breaks on these handles. Not sure why it took so long for someone to do this. Way to go Dorman!

As for the handle itself it is made of the same plastic as OE. Will likely last as long as the original. However you have to remove the lock cylinder if you want to retain your factory key. This can be a bit of a trick if you are not well versed in small clips. You will also have to save your original plastic clips that hold the actuating rods. I was lucky enough to break mine but easily found replacements at a salvage yard.

It will work if you need it to, but the whole unit is made of some flimsy plastic compared to oem, it would be better to source a junkyard part or rebuild and restore the handles, these are just too cheaply made to be a good replacement unfortunately and i will be throwing this item away after stripping it for the small plastic connectors as its well past my return window

For a product aimed to fix the issue of your lift gate not being able to open because the latch rod always slides down the factory clamp this creates a new issue. The piece of plastic needing to push down on the lever broke with minimal force. Also the white plastic spring that is supposed to push the lever back in place was put in wrong and i had to use the one from my OEM handle. Back to my old one but I’ll steal the one good thing about this thing is the latch rod holder. However, seeing the rest of the plastic quality I might just go with a whole different handle all together.
