The round hole is too big and apparently fits a different switch. Pictured is the smaller hole needed for 2002.

Went in just fine, or at least as well as it can given the GMC design of the thing. Easy enough to switch out the control knobs from the broken one to the new one.The only challenge is getting the screws lined up and back in place, but that certainly isn't the fault of this replacement, just an awkward original design.

Replacement bezel fits great. Easy to install. Great price. Dealership wanted over $100.00.

Perfect oem replacement but a little pricey for a relatively small piece of plastic. Just make sure you are replacing the cover that does NOT have a memory switch. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is price (even though it is fair with the market)
